Operation Achieve Anything: Day One-Hundred-Forty-Six, Dateline 5-26-2018

...When it’s over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.
When it’s over, I don’t want to wonder

if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don’t want to find myself signing and frightened,
or full of argument.

I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.
— Mary Oliver

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number one-hundred-forty-six of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday, I decided to go easy after finishing my work which turned out to be just the right plan because my back now feels almost completely healed and both my energy and enthusiasm have been reset. As I said in yesterday’s post, I had a highly potent edible that helped force me to take the time off and relax.

I finished up work around noon thirty and ate a giant pot chocolate called a LOL Bar. Knowing that it would take at least an hour for the thing to set in, I started the venture off with a quick nap. That allowed me to wake up and enjoy the high rather than have the high send me off to slumber. When I did wake, my first instinct was to head to my computers to play some online games and watch YouTube videos, which is my default time killer for when I need to kill an hour or two but I hate when I waste legitimate free time with these activities.

The moment I found myself falling into this trap, I forced myself to head over to the couch to watch a movie. I know that this too is a time waster, but my goal was to take a break from my daily routine and not to head out in order to seek some great adventure. I think this helped two fold. For one, it got me out of my office chair, which is starting to fall apart in a way that I feel is adding to my back problem. The second benefit was, sitting outside of my workspace allowed me to feel more like I was on an official break and not like I was just procrastinating.

While on the couch I decided to watch the new Baywatch movie since it was free on Amazon Prime and I was feeling nostalgic toward its brand of comedy. The idea of this movie on its own is rather dumb, but I’ve found that ever since the Brady Bunch movie, when these cheesy TV shows get adapted into feature lengthed films, they manage to utilize what parody films have lost over the past many years. Where parody films now make fun of pop-culture over genre or specific content, the cheesy TV adaptation delve into the specific nuances that used to make parody films so fun.

I then napped again after the movie, woke, watched a documentary and then fell asleep for the night. I always have mixed feeling about a multiple dose edible all at once because I usually end up sleeping through most of the high, but at the same time, I also always wake feeling like there’s been a reset of my body and mind.

I guess this fulfills yesterday’s assignment where I was supposed to continue to work towards my passion and purpose since, aside from writing, my other great passion is sleep. Either way, I’m going to consider the assignment good, considering it’s now the fourth day in a row where the assignment has been the exact same task. Today’s assignment, however, is a good one as I am now tasked to write my obituary, which I’ve done in the past but I’m now excited to write an update.

As always, you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s post to see what I manage to come up with. Until then, it’s now time for me to wrap this thing up as usual by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
