Operation Achieve Anything: Day One-Hundred-Eighty-One, Dateline 6-30-2018

Uncertainty is the refuge of hope.
— Henri Frederic Amiel

Good evening crickets. Welcome to day number one-hundred-eighty-one of Operation Achieve Anything. I can’t believe it’s already so late in the day. It’s a Saturday, and last night I bought a box of wine to celebrate the weekend only to drink myself to sleep super early and then drink myself back to sleep when I woke early in the AM. When I awoke for the third time, I could hardly believe it was so late in the PM that I felt like I was being pranked.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and now here I sit with a wicked hangover and just want to go back to sleep. Fortunately, however, yesterday’s assignment was another repeat lesson, so this isn’t going to be that tough of an update to write. Then again, my head is so cloudy that I can barely even think. Once again, the task at hand was focused on the choices we make and how our success is based on these decisions.

As I’ve said in past post on this topic, I agree with the Achieve Anything… book when it comes to the choices we make as far as how we react to the situations that come our way but I think things get oversimplified when the book claims that success is a choice as well. Though this may be the case in the business world, when it comes to creative careers there actually is a lot of other contributing factors that go into whether or not you’ll succeed or fail. As much as I wish it were the case, there is more to making it in the creative world than just choosing to be a success.

I think that fulfills yesterday’s task, now let’s see how I deal with today’s task about uncertainties. According to the book, the uncertain things in life shouldn’t be looked at as a curse but instead as a sign of opportunity. I fully agree with this concept but you’ll have to wait for tomorrow to see what I have to say on the subject. Until then, it’s now time for me to wrap this post up as usual by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
