Operation Achieve Anything: Day Two-Hundred-Eight, Dateline 7-27-2018

Fantasies are more than substitutes for unpleasant reality; they are also dress rehearsals, plans. All acts performed in the world begin with imagination.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number two-hundred-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. Last night turned out to be a fun one out of the blue and this time there wasn't even any boozing or socializing at all. If you follow this at all, you already know that I've been a bit hobbled by my latest bout with sciatica that's been going on for over a month.

Things started to get better at the start of last week when I healed up enough to be able to sit in my office chair after being bedridden for a week and a half but I was still struggling to get around. With all of the limitations of my movements, my place grew to be a bigger mess than average, mainly because I feared that if I were to bend over to take care of the clutter, I wouldn't be able to get back up.

I've been feeling better and better with each passing day to where I now only feel a hint of the pain that only ramps up in certain situations. Yesterday, I tested my limits and started to pick up clutter whenever I stood to walk for a bit throughout the day to sketch out my aching legs. I cleaned the home office corner of my space which got me to feel extremely inspired to tidy up the rest of my space.

The other contributing factor as to why I felt so inspired was that my new computer monitor finally came through which meant that I could finally set up my new computer and I wanted to enjoy my new purchase in a less chaotic space. Though I don't really mind the mess because my attention is usually too preoccupied with what's going taking place on my computer or am staring at a television screen, I can fully see how the clutter does affect me when I see it out of the corner of my eye.

As the room got cleaner and cleaner, I could start to sense a calmer mind since I was no longer "I spying" garbage thinking, "I should really just pick that up. My place was slow and steady because bending was still tough leading me to have to take many mini breaks. By the end of the day, not only did I get my room clean but I did have enough time left over to set up the new computer.

I'm glad that I did because I was originally going to set it up this morning and didn't factor in the hours of work that it takes to not only set up but also update a new system. Between the hours that it took to download and install all of the first use updates, customizing the workspace and installing all of my favorite programs, I wouldn't have had time for anything else today.

My current game plan is to focus on updating one corner of my room with each of my once-a-month paychecks. So far, my main focus has been my home office space. Not only do I now have the new computer and monitor that I mentioned up above but I've also got several office accessories to make my life a little easier as well as other creature comforts.

The first couple of checks went to bills and what not but from here on out the money's all mine to do what I want. This has me fantasizing about what's to come which is a perfect transition into yesterday's task where I was just supposed to have fun in the world of make-believe. This ended up being super fun but also led to an extremely rough slumber.

I couldn't stop fantasizing about my life with my room set up the way that I want which led me to toss and turn all night, only to give up from time to time to do some virtual window shopping. I couldn't get the coziness of my future abode out of my mind until the next thing I knew, I was still wide awake from the night before around the time I usually wake from my slumber.

Thankfully it's Friday because as soon as I'm done with my day job, I can catch up on my Zs over the next couple of days without my paid work schedule getting in my way. This will free up my time to do more fantasizing in order to fulfill these fantasy-themed assignments. Today, I'm just supposed to share a couple of the dreams that I have in my head so I'll probably end up sharing my visions of my new room and why I think that it's vital.

Of course, you'll have to wait for tomorrow's update to see what I manage to come up with. Until then, it's now time for me to wrap this thing up as usual by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
