Operation Achieve Anything: Day Two-Hundred-Forty, Dateline 8-28-2018

Always write angry letters to your enemies. Never mail them.
— James Fallows

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number two-hundred-forty of Operation Achieve Anything. I don’t know if it’s the fact that the Achieve Anything… book’s current theme is anger management has me thinking about the subject with intent, the fact that I’ve been more focused on relaxation during my downtime, or the fact that a system error is given me an impromptu five day weekend, also giving me a guilt-free break from my work, but I’ve been feeling extra calm as of late.

That’s not to say that I feel completely healed because I’ve still had a couple mini outburst over technical glitches that I’ve come across throughout the past couple days, but I do find that if I actually focus on my thoughts instead of just letting whatever happen internally, it’s easier to get through the day. For yesterday’s assignment, I was supposed to practice the art of going on long walks whenever a frustrating incident pops up.

Fortunately, nothing’s gone down over the past couple of days that has gotten me worked up to the point where I felt the need to get up and walk away. That said, I do see how this technique would work considering I have started walking over to refill my water whenever I feel that I want to throw my computer across the room due to extremely typical technical issues. This might be the biggest contributing factor to my eased nerves because not only am I walking away, the addition of the water helps to literally and figuratively cool me off as well.

I do plan to use the extended walk technique when it’s closer to winter, and I don’t feel like I might die from the heat, but for now, I’m going to consider this assignment to be complete. As for today’s assignment, I’m now supposed to practice the art of writing angry letters with no intention to send them. I actually practice this technique a lot on social media, but it took some trial and error to really get it to work.

I’ll dig into the disaster of how I used to write the letters with no intent to send them, only to accidentally end up sending them when drunk and needing to vent, when I check in with tomorrow’s post. Until then, it’s now time for me to sign off as usual by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
