Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Twenty-Nine, Dateline 11-25-2018

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-nine of Operation Achieve Anything. I think that I ended up sleeping too much over the past couple of days that all I want to do is sleep even more. Thankfully, it’s Sunday meaning that I can work at my weekend pace without beating myself up for being unproductive. It’s also the day that we’re celebrating my little nephews birthday so I’m going to rush to get everything done so I can head inside to hang out.

Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Twenty-Eight, Dateline 11-24-2018

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. Though I’m not all that proud of the paragraph I managed to come up with, I’m super proud of the fact that I managed to fit in my Daily Breaker post at around five-thirty in the AM yesterday morning, while I was still up celebrating Thanksgiving from the night before. I somehow managed to pace my drinking and partaking of medical butter and smoke to where I was consistently comfortable without ever getting cranky of catatonic leading me to want to ride it out until I just couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. I ended up staying awake until noon and woke seventeen and a half hours later feeling nice and refreshed.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-seven of Operation Achieve Anything. I’m still up from last night, so I’m going to make this quick just in case I end up sleeping through my deadline. Yesterday’s assignment was to not watch TV or do anything having to do with technology. The synchronicity was amazing because I’ve been actively putting in an effort to free my time to do nothing but watch TV. I proudly failed that assignment which I’ll get into tomorrow when I delve into the amazingly timed quote of the day. I look forward to sharing my next update. Until then, it’s that time for me to sign off by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-six of Operation Achieve Anything. I hope everyone is having a happy Thanksgiving. I’m going to try to make this one quick so that I can move over to the couch and celebrate the holiday in my own special way. I know it should be a day for family, but when I moved to Seattle twenty years ago and could only afford to travel home once a year for Christmas, it became a day where I celebrate solitude, which plays into the current theme of the Achieve Anything… book.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-five of Operation Achieve Anything. I am so excited about the next couple of days because I’m going to be taking a few preplanned days off from my SNL review challenge while using a couple of banked reviews to keep up my one-review-a-day average. Though I often build and use back up reviews, I usually use my safety net content when I’m too hung over to focus which happens once or twice a month. Typically, these weekend benders are unplanned, so any time off is more guilt-ridden and not the refreshing break that I actually need.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-four of Operation Achieve Anything. Today is the day that I implement my plan to watch and review as many episodes as I can over the next two days to be able to afford somewhat of a vacation. With Thanksgiving coming up, I don’t want to have to worry about any deadlines on the day because I plan to be wasted. I also a few extra days off to recover and recharge my energy toward the challenge because I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out on the challenge over the past week, so a little downtime might be just what I need.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-three of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday I shared how I’m growing to accept the fact that I am entering a much calmer phase of my life now that I’ve given up wearing my extrovert mask to settle into accepting the introverted existence filled with solitude that I once desperately tried to avoid. Though I adore the people I met and the places I’ve been back when I was rudderless in my efforts to find my place in the world, unfortunately, the direction I landed on is this path that I must travel on, my own, at least until I get to the next fork in the road.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-two of Operation Achieve Anything. Here we go with another Sunday where I’ll be heading up to my older sister’s house once again, this time to welcome my younger sister back to town for her quick two-month stay as part of some work training. Thankfully, she and my mom are road tripping it right now so my sister can have access to her car, meaning that I won’t have to leave until later in the evening, leaving me plenty of time to get everything done before I head out.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty-one of Operation Achieve Anything. I can’t believe that it’s another Saturday already. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was surprised by the fact that it was last Saturday. This week has been an interesting one because I spent way too much time focusing on my efforts to regulate my sleep that it threw off my entire schedule. I think I was just trying to recapture the success of the week before where I managed to hit my daily target of seven hours of slumber without any effort at all.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twenty of Operation Achieve Anything. I’ve really been struggling with my schedule over the past couple of days and am just now realizing that I think daylight savings is to blame. I know most people are already aware of the difficulties that come with this shifting of time, but this is the first time in my life as a morning person. I used to love this time of year because I preferred to work after dark. Now, night time has become a sign for me to start to wind down, leading me to start to get into my end of the day mode around four thirty in the PM instead of steadily working all the way up until prime time TV watching PM.

Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Nineteen, Dateline 11-15-2018

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-nineteen of Operation Achieve Anything. Over the past couple of days, I’ve been hung up on how to handle mornings where I wake up before meeting my target of getting seven hours of sleep for the day. Day one was great because after waking two hours shy, I was able to fall back to sleep within a reasonable window of time, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. On day two, however, it took me over two hours just to get back to sleep to make up the missed slumber, which led to an extra late start to my day. This got me bummed out as I began to worry if I would ever work out a way to deal with my sleep issues.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-eighteen of Operation Achieve Anything. Here we are with another late start. I think I’m already going to give up on the new strategy that I was just talking about yesterday where I was going to start staying in bed until I hit my Fitbit target of seven hours of sleep, instead of making up any missed time through a nap later in the day. Where it does feel better when the seven hours of sleep come consecutively, today it took me four hours to pick up the last two hours that I needed to meet this goal. Meanwhile, when I was making up this time through naps, I typically only end up wasting about a half-hour to get back to sleep.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-seventeen of Operation Achieve Anything. Here we go with another late start to my day. Granted, I’ve already finished my SNL review for the day, and this post is the last task to fulfill my daily obligations, but I still started late nonetheless. Typically, I’d beat myself up for starting so late, for not living up to my own self-imposed pressures to be as productive as I can in an effort to justify my existence, especially during times like this when I am in between jobs.

Over the past couple of days, I’ve been regretting my decision to participate in this year’s NaNoWriMo which might be the reason I’ve been struggling with my focus as of late. I don’t mind the work and have been having a blast writing fiction again, but it’s cutting into the time that I need to prepare for the projects that I wanted to start at the beginning of the year.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-fifteen of Operation Achieve Anything. It’s Sunday, I’m about to head up to my oldest sister’s house for some family time, so this is going to be another quick weekend post. This makes three quick posts like this in a row which has me feeling a bit guilty until I remind my self how I’ve been doing this particular segment of the site for close to four years straight without missing a day. Add to this the fact that I’ve done so with no real signs that there actually is any interest and I’m pretty proud of myself for keeping on top off all of this nonsense as strictly as I do, even if I end up having to phone it in from time to time.

Here we go with some more fun and games following an impromptu day off from trapping myself behind this monitor for another full day. As always, it was relaxing and nice to be able to just sit on the couch for another rare round of day drinking. Yes, I do this every other week, but considering my past, that’s super rare to me. Now I just need to get over the guilt that I always feel for breaking my streak of productivity, which led me to feel like I needed this downtime in the first place.

Sometimes I hate having ten different daily challenges going on all at the same time because, on days like today, where I just feel sick and need to take the day off, I feel like a complete failure for not getting to everything that I need to. Sure, I did manage to get almost everything done, but I’m probably going to beat myself up over the few things that I had to put off for tomorrow.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-twelve of Operation Achieve Anything. I’m not sure how today’s going to go since I’m about to post another ranting post as part of my SNL challenge. In it, I rant about the hypocrisy in modern comedy where I tap into my issues with the instant switch to fueling the fires of outrage culture after decades of arguing how creating a shock to the system is actually good. I just worry that people won’t get how it’s not that I’m holding on to wanting to say offensive or hate-filled jokes. It’s more that I’m lost about how I’m confused by the people who help to develop the trend to always go crass instantly flipped while acting like they had nothing to do with the thing that they’re now against.

I don’t even have to pay attention to the news anymore to just sense the tension that elections seasons bring. I haven’t even been listening to or watching anything current in my effort to avoid the stress being pushed by the media, whether intentional or not, and still, I felt an increase of inner tension that’s just now gone now that we have results.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-ten of Operation Achieve Anything. Last night, while working on my novel for this year’s NaNoWriMo, I got to thinking about my need to be more confident in my own voice. Where I used to think that meant I had to be a confident person writing nothing but uplifting things, now, it seems to finally be setting in that I’ll be much better off if I give up on these thoughts of expectation and just focus on my work. I’ve always felt confident in my concepts, but struggle to articulate what’s floating around in my head because I’m too hung up on what others will think of my work.
