Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Fifty-Three, Dateline 12-19-2018

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-fifty-three of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday I pointed out how I’m finally starting to feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing and not just practicing for the day when I’m ready to introduce my work to the world. All of the concerns over the typos from the past that make me look unprofessional went right out the window as started to see each flaw as a step to get to where I am like the scars that riddle my body.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-fifty-two of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday was an amazing day because it may have been the first time I ever sat and wrote my daily post minus the guilt that I should be doing something better with my time. Granted, I used to barrel through this guilt on a daily basis, working away for no pay while avoiding my friends and family. It really sucks just how much on income is required to justify an existence. You’d fall out of your chair if you knew just how little money I’m talking about, but tomorrow marked the day that I felt confident enough in my future to comfortably consider this blog my full-time job and not just a hobby that I hope to flip some day.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-fifty of Operation Achieve Anything. Last week turned out to be a pretty exciting week with ever increasing signs that next year is going to be a fun one. Not that I’m waiting until then to get the ball rolling, but between the holiday depression and anxiety over the anticipation of starting next year’s challenges, I can’t wait for the planning phase to part ways so that the real action can begin. Granted, I’ll probably end up a bit let down when things don’t take off as quickly as I see things playing out in my head, but that’s just part of the fun of chasing fantasies.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-fifty of Operation Achieve Anything. It’s Sunday, and my head is fried from being from being a bit extra wordy throughout the week as I anxiously await the upcoming New Year while sharing my hopes and fears of what's to come. My hopes are high because throughout this entire year I’ve been seeing continuous progress with only a couple of slip up which is rare. Typically, my ups to downs ratio is pretty balanced which is where the fear that all of my efforts to push forward will end up being for not.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-nine of Operation Achieve Anything. Wow, this has turned into a pretty interesting morning. Over the past couple of days, I’ve been feeling a bit down over the fact that I feel like I’m on the cusp of bringing in enough of an income through this site to not have to find a replacement for the part-time job that I just lost. Though this aspect is actually a good thing, the fact that my safety net funds are about to dry up has me feeling extremely anxious over how I will handle the next couple of months since I really don’t want to do another job hunt. This feeling of being on the cusp has been my life’s curse, so I tend to get a little down when I start to feel optimism beginning to swell.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday I shared my plan to give up dealing politics on social media since I started avoiding the subject at the start of the week and instantly began to see the benefits. Keep in mind, when I say deal with, I’m not just talking about the time when I give in to the urge to respond to someone else’s political comment or make a political post of my own, I’m talking, avoiding the topic altogether. I’ve been muting anyone who posts anything on the regular that gets me worked up to the point where I want to share my two cents while knowing my input won’t change a damn thing.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-seven of Operation Achieve Anything. I just realized that back in 2012, I made a post on Facebook where I referenced the old adage, “If you don’t vote then you can’t complain.” I joked that if I agreed to this deal, I would never complain about politics again in exchange for giving up on this stupid two party game. My biggest issue with the US Presidential election is the false sense of choice, both by the system that set up kill any third or fourth choice and the citizens who claim how vital it is to pick one of the two pieces of garbage that we’re being sold. Meanwhile, both option A and B end up ruling in favor of profit over the people.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-six of Operation Achieve Anything. Last night, when I finished up my work for the day, I thought that I hit the “restart and update,” notification that randomly popped up, with the hopes that my computer would be updated and ready to go when I woke up. Turn’s out I had to click “OK” one more time, leaving me to have to wait two hours for said update to take this morning. I wish my computer would have given me a warning that this would be an extra long one considering the fact that I was only expecting this process to take about fifteen minutes like the past couple rounds.

Operation Achieve Anything: Day Three-Hundred-Forty-Five, Dateline 12-11-2018

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-five of Operation Achieve Anything. I’ve been feeling myself slowly slip into another phase of depression over the past couple of days. Part of this has to do with the fact that Christmas is approaching and I typically suffer from about holiday-based blues now that I no longer feel as close to my family, outside of my sisters and mom, as I used to back when I was a kid. It just feels too weird hanging out with strangers who used to seem extremely close. It doesn’t help that it’s a family day, and I never saw it in my cards that I’d have any kids, so I do get a bit bummed out while watching the little ones at play, knowing that I will never have one of my own to play along.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-four of Operation Achieve Anything. I really need to stop beating myself up for opting to have fun over the weekends and end up getting a little extra chatty on social media as I reminisce about the days when I used to have friends. It’s just that ever since the 2016 Presidential election these platforms now seem so fickle that I’m worried that I might slip up while making one of my jokes and end up on Yahoo headlines for reasons I don’t want. Not that I ever say anything all that outrageous any more but you just never know these days.

Good evening crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-three of Operation Achieve Anything. It’s been a while since I’ve produced one of these daily ramblings while it’s dark out. This morning, I woke nice and early as usual, and being the I bought a box of wine for last night, I finished up the leftover booze in hopes that I would get back to sleep to wake around noon. I do this often now that I’m just a weekend warrior and not a daily drunk, only typically, I get my blogging obligations out of the way first. This morning, I just couldn’t wait because I was extremely desperate to get back to sleep to hide from the day.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-two of Operation Achieve Anything. Last night I finally got my act together and fit in two SNL viewing to bank an extra review so that I can get back to work with less stress as to whether or not I will make my day. Up until Thanksgiving, I would typically be one day ahead at all time so that each morning when I woke up, I was actually posting my review from the night before. I would then have the option stay ahead of the game by watching and reviewing my next episode in the evening, or put the viewing off for twenty-four hours if I need a break, or in the case of an emergency.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty-one of Operation Achieve Anything. Here we go with another morning where I have nothing preplanned in my head as I sit here struggling to come up with something to say. Yesterday was a day where, due to what seemed to be a billion changes in plans, I ended up working way later than I wanted and didn’t leave myself enough time to relax enough to just muse during my wind-down process for the day. This led me to stay up later that I wanted and wake later in the day as well. It’s amazing how I can’t seem to stick to a sleep schedule for longer than a month.

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-forty of Operation Achieve Anything. For the first time in at least a week, I woke up this morning, a little extra late, feeling completely uninspired as to what I wanted to say in this post. I think this is possibly because I’ve been a little extra rambly over the past couple of days and have hit my maximum word count. It probably also has to do with the fact that I’ve been spending every second of my spare time cleaning up the older content throughout this site to tidy it up for my New Year’s plan to finally start to actively promote this page as my job and not just a long-term hobby.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-nine of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday was another great day of me settling into the idea that I’m actually already in the twilight portion of living out my dreams. Granted, this twilight phase can get a little confusing since I only see quick glimpses of success out of the corner of my eye that disappear as soon as I turn my head. Where in the past, I would get discouraged by these disappearances which would lead me to wake up and find myself as some loser in a room, and not the professional yet quirky writer, plugging away with fingers constantly dancing and words magically appearing on the scene.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. I don’t know what the hell ending up happening to yesterday. Yes, I did get a late start. Yes, I did end up rambling a little more than usual in both The Daily Breaker post and the intro to my review of Ed Helms’ first visit as host on SNL. Yes, there were even technical difficulties that delayed any progress for about one hour, but none of that explains how it ended up being a ten hour day just to get through the bare minimum to meet all of my daily deadlines.

I’m not entirely sure if I’m just going through another optimistic fling with my outlook on life or what, but I’m really starting to feel like all of my efforts to figure out a way to be my own boss, on my own terms may be within my grasps. Keeping in mind that my first benchmark is to replace my part-time job and nothing delusion like landing a six-figure income within months of monetizing my efforts.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-six of Operation Achieve Anything. I swear, it cracks me up how every single time I put any more effort into promoting my work, beyond casually sharing each new link through social media, the site traffic always seems to go down, only to jump back up to normal when I go back to my effortless ways. Yesterday, I figured I’d try to throw a couple of bucks at Twitter and Facebook to boost my post that celebrated my accomplishments from last month, thinking I’d see some sort of a bump only to end up seeing the curve turn in the wrong direction.

Today is turning out to be a pretty exciting day as I’ve hit several benchmarks all at once, creating a synchronistic sign that I’m on the right track. At least that’s how I’m going to choose to take it. First off, this is the final month of this Operation Achieve Anything challenge, as well as my 700th SNL review as part of my My Saturday Night Life challenge. I’ve successfully met each deadline for both projects going on one full year for this task, and two years when it comes to my SNL reviews.

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number three-hundred-thirty-four of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday ended up being just the day that I needed at just the right time. Over the past week, I’ve been working through issues with my productivity levels following my mini-Thanksgiving break. Even though I took enough time off to feel a little refreshed, I still felt a bit burnt out because that time off was devoted to a seventeen year ongoing Thanksgiving tradition that came with a checklist of things to do. The other day off went to recovery from all of the booze and legal marijuana that was involved.
