The Resolution: There's nothing I love more than a good nap. Sure I have my bed where I can nap whenever I want but being that I live in a studio apartment the bed is meant for sleeping and watching TV.

I want a place to nap; a comfy cubbyhole that is purely meant to escape the world for stolen hours of sleep and by this time next year I plan to have that space.

Result #317: Damn It!!! Unless You Count The Floor… I Still Only Have My Bed And Couch To Nap On…

Update #1: The Conclusion…

Though very disappointed, I'm not all that surprised that I failed this one.

I'd be willing to bet if I was still living in my Seattle apartment I definitely would have complete this resolution to create a cubbyhole for napping on time. Between having a steady income and living in a space that felt like my own, I had both the money and the space to create the perfect spot to hide while I dozed off for a few.

As I've said in past home decor based failures, now that I'm living back at home in San Diego I have no sense of permanence when it comes to my living space. Don't get me wrong, I love living at home while I try to figure things out but I know I'll eventually want to venture back out to live on my own.

Since there is no sense of permanence I don't have the urge to build or buy anything that I would have to move or abandon when the time comes where I feel the need to leave. The only furniture that is actually mine at this point is my desk and my office chair and both of these can be abandoned on a whim.

I hope that someday I will eventually own a space to call home and if that ever happens I'm going to make it nice and cozy with all kinds of places to nap.

I will definitely let you know if... when this actually happens.
