The Resolution: I feel it's time to put another book to test. The other day while perusing Amazon.com I came across this book of 46 Health Hacks. Being that I could use some more health experiments to my life I figure why not give them all a shot.

The price has gone up from $2.99 to $6.99 so I missed out on a real steal. I'm not really going to blame finances for this failure. As I've pointed out in the past, the wheels have pretty much fallen off this whole resolution experiment.

I didn't have a job when I first started 365 Days of Resolution. I had just decided to give up on my career as a lighting guy for film and television and was contemplating giving up on fictional writing altogether. These little experiments where all I could think of to stay sane as my world seemed to be collapsing around me.

Since I was unemployed and very serious about being able to complete every resolution I set, the first three or so months’ worth of resolutions were all free or at least very affordable. Then I landed a job in retail, I was making enough money to pay the rent while financing a few bigger tasks.

I started obsessed… These resolutions where the only things that made me happy. I hated that I had to give up on a career I really liked in exchange for a job that I couldn't stand. I stopped talking to all my film friends (which just kind of happens when you stop working in the industry/community.) I also stopped putting effort into my other relationships because I was too depressed to put on a happy face.

I kept up this facade all the way up until I moved back home to San Diego. That's when I lost all energy toward everything.

I tried my hardest to keep the enthusiasm but it felt like I ruined everything that I cared about and spent a month just staring at the floor. I've never fully recovered. Seattle had replaced my birthplace as to what I considered home for about 18 years and my actual home felt foreign to me.

Now I feel like I'm finally making progress.

Even though I've kind of given up I'm keeping this experiment alive by reporting all my failures because I do have plans for it in the future that won't work unless I make it all the way through. I really need to focus on getting my life back together so that doing these tasks will be fun again and not just a distraction to kill time.

I think I have a strategy that might work but will take up all of my time.

Be prepared for more failures for now that I plan to redeem once I work through getting back on my feet.

As always, I'll keep you posted.
