Resolution #359: Create A Store Page For The Wicker Breaker....

Date: 12-25-2014

Due Date: 12-25-2015

The Resolution: What better day is there to announce my first capitalistic attempt to monetize TheWickerBreaker.com than Christmas?

There are multiple reasons why I want to start my own online store.

The first reason being, I've made many resolutions to learn to create things, things that people may be interested in purchasing.

Second, I want to add links to products that I’ve used throughout this experiment. Amazon.com has a way that I can get a percentage of purchases made through my links. I figure if I inspire someone to try any of these experiments I attempted, I may as well get a cut.

I'd also like to add a way for people to donate items to help ensure that I complete as many resolutions as possible. I feel that some people may be more willing to donate an item rather than cash to make sure their generosity goes to the right thing.

Finally, money.

I'm still looking to be my own boss and making money is a major step.

Result #359: I Failed To Come Up With Something To Sell And Failed To Make A Store To Not Sell It On…

Update #1: The Conclusion.

Date: 12-25-2015

Back when I set this resolution I was hoping that I would be to a point where one of these resolutions would result in something worth selling. I figured between the knitting, the artwork, the 3D printing... etc, that I would have some storefront worthy merchandise but no...

I think one of my problems is that I can be over ambitious and so caught up in the potential that when my optimism doesn’t match the results… I get very discouraged. Even if I did manage to succeed at each and every resolution I set, I'd have nothing but my flawed learning pieces to offer as products.

That said, this coming year I have an idea to focus on one area of interest that will result in items that I can put up for sale. I'm also learning to build affiliate stores through the web development class that I'm taking and plan to do my trial run during the learning process. Between these two goals… I should be able to redeem this failure pretty soon.

As always, I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Merry Christmas Everyone.
