Resolution #231: For The Next Year... I'll Only Eat Butter That I... Myself... Has Churned!!!

Date: 8-19-2014

Due Date: 8-19-2015

Resolution: Because it's me, I have to clarify, this does not mean that I'm going to be living on an all-butter diet for the next year.

In general, I don't eat all that much butter but when I do, I love it.

And what's better than butter?

Fresh homemade butter.

At least that's my theory. I haven't made butter since elementary school and am only assuming that it's hard to mess up.

It's just a matter of shaking milk in a jar right?

I'll soon find out as I experiment with different recipes and churn my own butter for an entire year.

Result #231: I Successfully Made My Own Butter… For The First Time Since Elementary School… And It Was Delicious… But… I Failed To Make Enough To Use For A Full Year…

Update #1: The Conclusion…

Date: 8-19-2015

Alright, so in the initial resolution, I said I would churn my own butter for an entire year. I also stated that I don't really use butter all that much. In fact, I never made butter while living in my apartment because I had I four-pack that I was waiting to finish up before starting a homemade batch.

Since moving home, not only has there has always been butter in the fridge but my butter consumption remained at the same low level.

I almost forgot about this resolution until today when I saw it was due.

So, I got the supplies and made a batch of butter.

Though it took longer than I thought.

It was just as easy as I remembered.

Now I plan to continue to make homemade butter readily available for whoever needs it. Hell, this may even rekindle my waffle addiction for when I redeem the “for a full year…” aspect of this challenge…. because now that I think of it… I’m going to give this one a fail… :(
