Result #128: Even if it was just a small bite, I ate breakfast everyday last year.

#128: Eat breakfast on a daily basis.

Date: 5-8-2014

Due Date: 5-8-2015

Resolution: As I pointed out in the Hollywood Cookie Diet resolution, I'm one of these people that skips breakfast in exchange for several minutes more sleep. Every article I've every read whether dealing with diet or overall health says that skipping breakfast is a bad idea.

From here on out I will start my day the right way with a nice healthy breakfast, even if it does mean waking up a few minutes earlier.

Update #1: The Conclusion.

Date: 5-8-2015

This may not be a major accomplishment but as I pointed out in the initial resolution, I've spent most of my life as a breakfast skipper. If given an option I would usually choose a couple more minutes of sleep over the time it would take to prepare and eat breakfast. I would then be starving by the time lunch came around which would lead to food coma after my midday feast.

This year I successfully ate breakfast everyday and can now see a slight difference in my day. I would be lying if I said I felt a major change. Now that I start my day with a meal I feel a little more energy and a little less hungry by the time lunch comes around.

I wish I could say there was more of a magical effect but no, that's it. It's a nice enough difference that I'm going to keep it up but I haven't noticed enough change worth writing home about.

Maybe once I start to collect a consistent income again I'll try to start the day with a heartier healthier breakfast than cereal or a microwave breakfast sandwich and get back to you if there are any benefits in that.

Until then, I'm taking the success.
