Resolution #270: Start Tinkering With 3D Animation...
/Date: 9-27-2014
Due Date: 9-27-2015
The Resolution: I know, I have yet to figure out regular animation at this point but I have a fantasy that at some point next year I'll have all of my minor resolutions out of the way to have more time to focus on these bigger projects.
I'm not all that interested in learning 3D animation to create the next Pixar hit. The reason I want to learn is to create simple animations as a tool to work through my story ideas.
I should be able to at least figure out 3D stick figures to create simple animatic storyboards.
Result #270: I Found Free 3D Animation Software… But… I failed To Tinker Enough With It To Animate A Single Scene…
Update #1: The Conclusion…

I wish I could say that I drew either of the monkeys in the two images on this page. The first one is just something I found on the internet and the one directly above is a built-in sample drawing that came with the free 3D animation software that I found.
I heard of Blender a long time ago when I discovered a screenwriter’s blog that had a bunch of links to free filmmaking software and templates. I wish I could remember the blog so that I could share but this discovery was made several years ago and I would have forgotten all about it if this Blender software didn't trigger a memory.
That memory is why I decided to go with Blender as the free 3D software that I'm going to attempt to learn. I also wish I could say that I'm in the process of learning instead of making another future promise to make up for my current failure.
I've still yet to move from paper to digital so I think I'm quite a way off from the 3D animation world but, as with everything else, I promise to share my progress if/when I ever get around to figuring it out.
