Yesterday ended up being a very productive day. Not only did I build a template for a website that I'm making to share my progress as I learn the world or web development but I also managed to accidentally start the redemption process of a 365 Days of Resolution Failure!!!

Since The Wicker Breaker is more of a frivolous personal blog, I've been able to get buy with limited Photoshop experience. Whenever I needed to do something I would track down a tutorial and figure it out. Other than these one off lessons I have yet to take a structured Photoshop class.

Now that I'm taking the design aspect of web development as serious as I take the content aspect of my web pages I finally decided it's time to finally "#24 Figure out Photoshop CS2" and redeem my failure to do so in time to meet the deadline I set last year.

Last night I completed my first Photoshop class!!!

I'm going to make a more detailed post about this when I officially announce the redemption aspect of 365 Days of Resolution but until then, here are a couple photos I created for the course.

This is going to be a work in progress that I will continue to tweak as I take more Photoshop classes.

First I colored the background with every type of brush available the I created a gradient foreground and used the masking tool to cut out the robot in the foreground layer.

This is another image that I like the concept but it's not quite what I was going for so I'm going to continue to tweak it as I take more Photoshop courses.

In this image I separated the alien and astronaut from the background so I can leave them as is and warp the rest of the image.

I can't wait to learn more!!!

As always I will continue to share my progress.
