As I said yesterday, I only have four days left on my Lynda.com free trial for unlimited training. My plan is to take full advantage of the left over time by completing a "learning path" on UX Design.

I was very excited about this course because I thought that I would learn a thing or two about design itself but no. It seems UX is more about pre-planning, brainstorming, and other tools for marketers that don't really know how to build a website but know exactly how they should perform.

It all seems kind of common knowledge to me. The courses pretty much tell you to think of the end user in your designs. I think I may be finding it a little redundant because at this phase I plan to work alone developing my own pages. I don't have anyone else that I have to get on the same page with when designing the features I plan to add.

I can see the importance of what is being taught in this course, it just feels like it's more geared toward the "business creative" type over advice to someone who is genuinely creative, with lots of spreadsheets and templates that seem over thought out and not always in a good way.

Oh well, I still feel like I'm learning something useful, I just don't really enjoy the tone.

I should be able to finish this set of courses by the end of the day. I'll let you know if my views change by the morning.

Talk to you then,
