Last night I finally got a key feature for first Android app figured out which has reinvigorated my overall enthusiasm towards the project. It's not that I was discouraged enough to bail out on the idea, I just wasn't as excited about how rough of a draft this first effort was turning out to be.

Up until now I've been torn between slapping together a first draft of the site with simplified features and placeholders as I work through the concept of the app but as someone who struggles with creating final products, my fear is that I will rush through this project with a good enough for now approach to figuring out the big picture, only to never get around to fleshing out the functionality of the device.

Now my strategy has changed. Rather than rush through the layout stage, I am going to take as much time as I need to build each feature the way I see it in my head. I found that in doing so with this main feature I found that, since I'm new to this process, I not only learned how to write the desired code but I also learned tips and tricks that will help me in other areas of the app.

This new plan leaves me feeling a lot more confident that I when I am done I will have a product that may not be fully ready to go but it will be in a state where it is ready to share for feedback, where the first plan would have been for my eyes only.

Alright, it's time to get back to work!!!

Talk to you tomorrow,
