Resolution #339: Sharpen My Design Skills With These 80 Design Challenges...

Date: 12-5-2014

Due Date: 12-5-2015

The Resolution: Once again, while searching for resolutions on Amazon.com I came across the book Creative Workshop by David Sherman. It was the first book that caught my eye so I figured, 'why not?'

For some reason… I wasn't all that enthusiastic about this choice until I clicked the “Look Inside” link.

Upon reading the introduction I realized that I have absolutely no training in design.

This got me very excited about this resolution because learning design might help me with the site, my drawing, photography, and basically every other creative endeavor I pursue.

I can't wait to start this one.

Result #339: I Successfully Bought The Book But Didn't Complete One Design Challenge... Hopefully… That Will Change Soon…

Update #1: The Conclusion…

Date: 12-5-2015

When I first set this resolution I was more interested in taking on this book of design challenges because of my newfound interest in arts and crafts. I was hoping to learn to improve my artistic choices by implementing design theory into my art project.

Other than that I just thought it would be fun.

Now that I am learning to build websites and phone apps from scratch I feel that learning design theory has moved up in its importance for me to master... or at least be more aware of. I'm currently shifting my focus to learning web and app development in order to increase my income potential so that I will be able to afford to focus on all these failures during the redemption stage of 365 Days of Resolution.

I think this resolution will be the first one I focus on in the new year. As always, I will keep you posted and share my progress.
