Good morning Crickets. Welcome to day number seventy-seven of Operation Achieve Anything. It’s a Sunday, which is the one day a week where I don’t beat myself up for opting to goof around. Sure I still end up slacking off throughout the rest of the week but that wasted time comes with guilt. Between the fact that I’m kind of in vacation mode due to postponed plans to visit my sister and the fact that yesterday’s assignment left me uninspired, this update’s going to be a quick one.

In fact, yesterday’s assignment wasn’t was barely an assignment at all since the book just wanted me to print up the quote of the day by Jon Kabat-Zinn where he said, “Fundamentally mindfulness is a simple concept. Its power lies in its practice and its applications. Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally. This kind of attention nurtures greater awareness, clarity, and acceptance of present-moment reality. It wakes us up to the fact that our lives unfold only in moments. If we are not fully present for many of those moments, we may not only miss what is most valuable in our lives but also fail to realize the richness and the depth of our possibilities for growth, and transformation,” and read the quote daily for at least a week in order to feel inspired.

It is a pretty good quote but not all that exciting of a task to report on. I will, however, follow the rules and read the quote every day and will be sure to share anything that comes from it. As for today’s assignment, the theme of the lesson was humor as the Achieve Anything… book explained the benefits of being funny when trying to win over people. This led to an assignment where the book simply wants me to try to be funnier than usual today and then share any of my findings.
