Operation Achieve Anything: Day Eighty-Eight, Dateline 3-29-2018

Eighty percent of success is showing up.
— Woody Allen

Good morning Crickets. Welcome to day number eighty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. I am now officially back from my unofficial vacation which I once again managed to seamlessly pull off without falling behind on my work. Well, seamless to any readers who may check in, as for me, I burnt through my surplus of safety-net work and no longer have the comforted of being days ahead of my deadlines for the SNL Challenge that’s my current major project.

Today is also day number three of the  Achieve Anything…  book’s eight days of themed lessons that all focus on nurturing success and working beyond any failure. For yesterday’s assignment, I was supposed to treat success like a fragile wild animal and then try to coerce it into my life. Since the main goal that I want to achieve through this challenge has to do with making something of myself through the writing I’ve been committed to for so many years, I feel that I’m already ahead of the game for many of these assignments.

Since I’ve always had a slow and steady approach towards achieving this goal where I’d prefer to be passively discovered over forcing my content into a marketable mold in order to sell it to the masses, persistence has always been my bait of choice. Yes, I do get sad that I’m not further along than I am but if the plan does work the way that it does in my head if I do manage to trap this fragile beast called success, I’ll be able to keep control of the process as opposed to trying to appease the beast by offering up my ultimate goal as a sacrifice.

I never want writing to feel like a job so it’s very important to me that if I do trap the beast, I can nourish it so that it will opt to stick around by choice instead of constantly living in fear that it will find a way to escape when I’m not looking or working on something else for a little while. Once again, I’m not fully sure if this fulfills the author's idea for the assignment but I’m going to consider this, good.

Now, for today’s assignment, I’m simply supposed to show up highlighting how part of the key to success if just being where you need to be and doing what you need to do at any given time. I may not always be where others want me to be but as far as my plans go, I’ve always been pretty good at putting in the work that I need to.

Of course, there’s more to my answer than what I wrote above, but as always, you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s post to see how I truly fulfill the assignment. Until then, it’s now that time where I wrap this up by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects!!!

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
