Operation Achieve Anything: Day One-Hundred-Nineteen, Dateline 4-29-2018

Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing but to turn it into glory.
— William Barclay

Good afternoon Crickets. Welcome to day number one-hundred-nineteen of Operation Achieve Anything. It’s Sunday, bringing the end of another interesting week with this project. Though I didn’t really achieve all that much over the past several days as far as these posts go, I’ve been making a lot of behind-the-scenes progress that I hope will be paying off really soon. I’ll delve more into these efforts as soon as I have a better grasp on where they are at or when I get any of the final results.

Until then, this is going to be another quick one because yesterday’s assignment was focused on art so I don’t really have all that much to write about. The task at hand was to draw a picture of my fantasy shoes that I would like to wear on the long-haul route to success. At first, I was planning to draw some magical shoes because I was excited to draw but then when I sat down to work I decided that I’d rather pay tribute to the shoes that got me to where I am.

Though I don’t own any now, I swear it’s been close to twenty years that I’ve had Dickies skater shoes as my go-to brand for comfort and style. Granted these shoes only last a little over a year, but considering the fact that I literally wore these shoes daily, I’m actually surprised that they always lasted as long as they did. On top of that, the shoes were always on sale for twenty bucks at the local Big 5 Sporting Goods Store so I always found them to be well worth the cost.

And with that, here is my attempt at art…

…as I was drawing this, it quickly became clear that I am way out of practice and should probably set aside more time to draw.

As for today’s assignment, the Achieve Anything… book is still on the topic of endurance and wants me to explore the idea that even though endurance triggers visions of tedious work that will wear you out if you manage to endure and work through endurance can equal a win. As far as the actual assignment goes, I’m now supposed to write about a time in my life where I endured in order to win.

Of course, you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s update to see what I manage to come up with. Until then, it’s now time for me to wrap this up and sign off by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
