Operation Achieve Anything: Day Two-Hundred-Thirty-Four, Dateline 8-22-2018

As we express gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
— John F. Kennedy

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number two-hundred-thirty-four of Operation Achieve Anything. Though I loved the impromptu time off the came from the day job’s servers being down, I decided that I’d put in the extra work to make up for the time off. Yesterday, I tested the water and worked the maximum six-hour day that the job allows. For the longest time, I was sticking to the four hour minimum because the management for this team is so flaky I feared that the more that I worked, the more likely more likely I’d make a mistake that would get me fired.

This fear comes from the fact that they continually use the fact that we’re easily fireable in their efforts to motivate us. Fill out a form incorrectly, and you get an email pointing out the mistake along with the reminder that inaccurate paperwork is enough to be removed from the assignment. It’s like that for everything, talking to other employees on the questions board if a fireable offense, not doing optional work is a fireable offense.

Again, it’s too bad because minus the how much I can’t stand the leadership, this has been the perfect job that’s provided me a livable paycheck and enough time left over to continue to chase my dreams. Over the past couple of months, I’ve been experimenting with ads on this page. Though at the point, the most I’ve ever made in a single day is three bucks, it’s still bringing in money on a daily basis. This leads me to believe that I could start a second site that’s less of a passion project and more of an attempt to make money over this page that more about writing the content that I want without having to worry about profit.

Last night, I started to fantasize about the day where I was earning enough on my own to be able to quit the day job. In this fantasy, life was so awesome because I had one-hundred percent control of my own time and was able to bounce around between whatever project I felt like. Not only that but in this world my living space was set up to where it was totally customized. Minus the extra hours that are eaten up by the day job, I was actually able to use other areas of the space to take a break and relax instead of spending all of my time sitting in front of this computer.

The new plan to get there is to work the day job as many hours as I can until I either completely refurnish my room or until I get fired, and from that point on, all of my focus will go towards making my own money. During this time, I will continue to do TheWickerBreaker work and start building this money making site whenever I get some free time. I know that all of this goes against yesterday’s assignment where I was supposed to come up with a plan to avoid getting stuck with tunnel vision, but at this point, I need that tunnel vision until I can finally figure out how I can truly be my own boss.

As for today’s assignment, I’m supposed to practice showing my gratitude through my action and not just express it with words in an effort to show the people I care about that I appreciate them without having to remind them with words. I plan to try to do this as usual but I’m not sure how I will be able to turn it into a post that meets the needs of the task, but we’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s update to see how this all plays out. Until then, it’s now time to sign off as usual by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
