Well, last night turned out to be a surprisingly fun night where I got to tap into my creative side without having to write a word... well... I take that back, I did write a few words but that's only because this creative outlet that I speak of was my effort to design the cover to the novel that I plan to share on New Year's Day.

Ugh, I've spent the past three days bedridden with a blend of a cold and depression that set in after completing the latest draft of my latest novel. In all honesty, I feel that the cold may have been a psychosomatic excuse to avoid the world while I processed the emotions that were brought up during the scribing of this partially autobiographic tale.

Last night I had a dream that I was back to my old self and was up in Seattle visiting old friends who were back to their old selves as well. At least, we all managed to suppress any issues and just had fun like we had in the old days. Though I had a blast while the dream was actually happening I woke feeling extra sad because dreams like this may be my only connection to these people and those times from here on out.

Damn, I already miss having the NaNoWriMo challenge as that backdrop to these Daily Breaker posts because it was so nice to have an opening line that I don't have to think of as well as a built-in topic to write about for the day. It's been so long since I've had to write a free-form post that it's feeling kind of hard to hit the ground rambling like I used to.

Welcome back to the regular old non-NaNoWriMo edition of The Daily Breaker where I am proud to announce not only did I reach the NaNoWriMo goal of 50,000 but I also managed to actually complete the draft as well which wasn't looking like it was in the card when I checked in with yesterday's update. I may have rushed a little and cut a few corners but at least I now have the entire idea committed to the page to tweak and expand upon in future drafts.

Welcome to day number thirty of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I am proud to announce that I've officially met the 50,000 word-count goal!!! This is only a half success in that I met the goals of the challenge but as far as the actual novel goes, I would say that I was only about halfway done. I'm okay with this because as I mentioned in a post a couple days ago, this novel is meant to be a capstone to tie several other novels, that I'm adapting from screenplays that I've already written, together which I need to finish before I can complete this piece of work. Not only that, I also feel that I have another 30,000 or so words to have a legitimate working first draft.

Welcome to day number 29 of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I should be hitting the fifty-thousand word-count target by the end of the day due to the fact that I am only two-thousand words away which is only three hundred words more than the daily recommended pace. As I've been saying over the past couple of days, even though I will be successful in meeting the NaNoWriMo goal, I think I might have one more week's worth of writing to get the story to the point where it's complete.

Welcome to day number twenty-eight of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where counting today there are three days left and I'm still on target to hit the 50,000 word-count goal on time. As I said yesterday, I'm still not fully sure if the actual draft will be compete but after last night's writing session I feel that it will be an extremely close call. I just might need an extra couple days and maybe 10,000 more words to not only get the NaNoWriMo win but a completed first draft as well.

Welcome to day number twenty-seven of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I can't believe that, counting today, there are only four days left until I complete my novel. Though I feel completely confident that I will definitely hit the 50,000 word-count goal of the challenge, I'm not fully sure if the actual story will be complete as once again I went a little overboard in what I am trying to achieve.

Welcome to day number twenty-six of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I am now done with taking time off and am already rebuilding a new backlog of work to afford to take more time off around Christmas. Yesterday turned out to be pretty fun because it felt like I was allowed to write again and not that I had to write again once the break was over.

Welcome to day number twenty-five of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I am now done with my epic two day Thanksgiving break and can't wait to get back to my regular scheduled programming. Don't get me wrong, I loved the time off and but my body and mind feel better after two days with zero pressure, but at the same time, I feel guilty about wasting so much time without getting to the leisure time activities that I wanted.

Welcome to day number twenty-four of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge!!! Yesterday, I was successful in fighting temptations and took the entire day off from everything in order to enjoy my Thanksgiving tradition. Now, the goal is to stick to the plan and take today off as well, only unlike in said plan I'm not hungover so there will be no misery to have to nurse.

Not only that but I am now also far enough ahead of the game that I can officially take the next day off as well to sleep off the hangover that is guaranteed to follow.

This is an awesome place to be since it means that no matter what I'll at least be taking Thanksgiving off with enough fudge room for an extra hangover day if needed.

Good morning crickets and welcome to day number 20 of this year's NaNoWriMo Challenge where I am still two days ahead of the recommended pace and am damn close to being two days ahead of my SNL viewing challenge as well. I think I mentioned this yesterday in passing but my new plan is to get ahead of my work as much as possible to be able to take a couple guilt-free days off for Thanksgiving.

Welcome to day number nineteen of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I am now officially two days ahead of the recommended pace and not just one whole day and change. Not only that but I'm also still one entire review ahead of my SNL watching challenge. This almost wasn't the case as I almost had another slacker day thanks to another visit from my family.

Welcome to day number eighteen of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where yesterday, I managed to make it throughout the entire day without having to use any of my backup content to meet my deadlines. If you haven't been following along, that's not to say that I frequently rely on backup content to get where I need but last time I did manage to build up a surplus of completed work, I burnt through my lead within about forty-eight hours.

Alight, we are now at day number seventeen of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge and I am proud to announce that I am officially an entire day ahead of my workload once again. As far as my NaNoWriMo writing goes, I've been at two days ahead of schedule consistently since missing the one day that led me to focus on building a backlog, but now I'm back to being ahead of my SNL reviews as well.

Here we go again for day number sixteen of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge where I'm still ahead of the game and still going strong but I've fallen into such a routine that yesterday's experience was pretty uneventful. Don't get me wrong, uneventful can be great but not when you're a shut-in and have to come up with something new to report on every day.
