Progress is continuing to be made!!!

I forgot how much I enjoy a set deadline. Up until a couple days ago, when I shared my intentions to participate in this year's NaNoWriMo, I was meandering through the rewrite process of the current novel that I'm working on, reworking three to five pages a day and feeling successful with the pace that I was keeping.

Now, even though I'm not fully committed to the whole NaNoWriMo thing, I'm about ninety percent there and finishing this draft of my current project by the first is probably what it's going to take to boost my commitment by the ten percent that I need to bring the chances up to one hundred.

No matter what I decide, the contemplation alone has provided a proper deadline to shoot for. At this point, it's a soft deadline but even at this status, I've noticed that simply having a set target date is enough to keep me focused to where I'm now knocking out daily page counts that are consistently up in the teens.

At this pace, I should be able to complete the draft with a day to spare. This outcome would be ideal because it would be super nice to be able to take a legitimate break before jumping into writing my first piece of original fiction for the first time in a few years.

The fact that I haven't written any new content in so long is the only reason that I'm holding back on fully committing to the novel writing challenge because I intentionally took a break from writing anything new until I found at least a taste of success by focusing on cleaning one of the many first drafts that are collecting dust in my drawer.

With that said, since I have a solid plan to publicly share the novel that I'm rewriting, I'm thinking that it might be time to start to contemplate the lifting of the new work ban which is why I'm in this dilemma.

Oh well, we'll see what happens but I'm not going to get anywhere is I just sit here rambling all day, so with that, it's now time to say good day. As always, I'll check in tomorrow with another update.

Talk to you then.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
