Dateline 11-11-2017

It's now day number 11 of this year's NaNoWriMo challenge and things are still going strong. Since today is Saturday, I'm going to attempt to take advantage of the fact that I have fewer distractions on this weekend day by doubling down on my efforts to get at least one day ahead of the recommended word count pace in order to give myself a little breathing room.

Ideally, I'd like to get at least one day ahead of my SNL review challenge as well because as much as I love my current routine, it would be twice as nice to wake every day knowing that a bulk of my obligations have already been met. Even though being ahead by one day wouldn't change my workload one bit, it would ease some of the stress over whether or not I will make my day since the deadlines would be pushed by twenty-four hours.

In the early days of my SNL reviews, my goal was to be a week ahead of the game at all times. Though I never really lived up to this plan there was a while where I came close and found it was the ideal way to work.

While writing reviews with only hours to meet the deadline makes me feel a little rushed, being ahead by just one day was enough to ease enough stress to make my writing not feel as forced. It's because of this difference in quality that I feel that I need to get back on this type of schedule.

When I first started writing this post, getting ahead of the game was just something that I was just thinking I should do. My thinking was that the lowered stress would just make everything a little more fun but now that I'm realizing how being ahead could potentially improve the quality of my content, I'm going to take this casual "if I have time" plan and turn it into a hard set goal to stick to until I get through both challenges.

I don't know if I'm going to get all of this done in a day but I'll say here and I'll say it now, I will get to the point where I am at least one day ahead of both the NaNoWriMo pace and my SNL review schedule by the time I get to my Saturday post around this time next week.

With that, it's now time to get to work and move on to task number two. As always, I'll keep you posted on my progress whether or not I succeed. Until then, good luck with any of your efforts and I will talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
