Resolution #149: Test The Apple A Day Adage...

Date: 5-29-2014

Due Date: 5-29-2015

Resolution: A couple of years ago I discovered there were way variations of apples than just red and green. This in no way led me to be a connoisseur but I did become pickier when I would make a purchase.

I still buy apples from time to time but not nearly as often as I should. For the next year, I will eat at least one apple a day while trying to sample as many different varieties as I can find.

Result #149: I Successfully Ate An Apple A Day… Back When Stores With Produce Were A Convenient Walk From My Apartment… Now That I’m Back In SoCal… Convenient Walks Are No More… :(

Update #1: The Conclusion…

Date: 5-29-2015

This is another resolution that I didn't miss a day while living in Seattle. I literally ate an apple a day from the moment I set this resolution. I tried a wide variety of apples and really liked the experience.

Then I moved and though I didn't bail out on the experiment all together I did fail to eat an apple a day due to the fact that I no longer living within convenient walking distance to a store that has fresh apples. I tried buying bags of apples at a time instead of three or four at a time but I found that the last few in each batch would usually go bad by the time that I got to them.

Looking back though, I can't really tell the difference between the first eight months when I did eat an apple a day and the past four months where my apple-eating was more random. Either way, I do want to get into the habit of eating more fresh fruit and once I have a means of transportation to where I can conveniently obtain fresh produce, I will revisit this resolution and eat apples 365 days straight.
