Welcome to day number twenty-four of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where yesterday I got to celebrate Pie Day as part of this marketing challenge… and by celebrate I mean eat… and when I say pie… I mean the crappy store-bought turnovers as opposed to a homemade treat… maybe if I were to read ahead in the 365 Days Of Marketing book I might have attempted to make a pie from scratch… but this plan was the best that I could come up with as a last-minute solution…
First… I tried the chocolate pudding pie from Smart and Final’s First Street brand… since this is a common flavor that I eat on the regular…. I wouldn’t say that it’s a go-to pie… since I would prefer more of a fruity flavor to go with the crust… and also prefer my chocolate in bar form… but I won’t complain about chocolate in pudding form if it’s my only option…
Next… I tried a Little Debbie Cherry Pie that I bought at The Dollar Tree… though Cherry Pie is typically my go-to flavor when it comes to turnovers… I wasn’t a fan of the Little Debbie brand because it was all cherry sauce with no chunks of the fruit to add the texture that I’m after… that said… the cherry sauce’s flavor was really good… to the point where this would be my favorite pie by far if it just had the cherry chunks…
Hours after the Cherry Pie… I moved on to try a Hostess Apple Pie that I bought at a gas station… I’m not usually a fan of Apple Pie in general… because I’m not a huge fan of neither the texture nor the flavor… but I didn’t mind it this time… because it provided a break from what I’m used to…
Finally… I tried Berry Pie… which is a flavor that I like but rarely pick unless there are no other options… I like the flavor as well as the crunchy texture from the berry seeds… but for whatever reason… I just forget that I’m a fan…
I’m willing to bet that cherry would have been my favorite if it only had the cherry chunks… because the sauce was such a good flavor… but as things stand… I think the Berry Pie was my favorite flavor during my celebration of Pie Day!!!
And with that… it’s now time to explore the assignment for today…
According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… today is Beer Can Appreciation Day… this would have been a great day to celebrate back when I was a drunk… but now that I’m mainly a pothead… I’ll have to find a different approach to celebrate the day than just drinking a bunch of different types of beers… the same way I just did with all these pies… I have an idea of how I will handle today’s assignment… but you’ll have to wait for tomorrow to find out my approach….
