One Creative Introvert’s Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day number seventy-four of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where I finally stuck to the plan to take another free SEO course from Udemy… to break up the monotony of implementing the thousands of SEO changes that I need to make after each analytical scan… the course in question is an eleven-hour marketing bootcamp that is already 65% complete…

There is so much information in this course… that I might go as far as to say that it’s the only free class that you really need… granted… it’s not the most entertaining of the classes that I’ve taken… but it does seem to cover all of the things that I’ve already learned from the five or six SEO courses that I’ve taken so far that are only three or four hours long…

My only issue is the sound quality… where it feels like it was recorded with just a standard desktop microphone with no noise canceling at all… there’s a bit of an echo in the room… and you can hear traffic from time to time… but I even look past this extra noise because the information is beneficial…

I should be able to finish the remaining 45% of this course by tomorrow’s post…

Until then… I’m going to consider my marketing efforts for today to be done… now it’s time to see how I handled the theme from yesterday…

According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was Jewel Day… and to celebrate… I was going to buy my dog a blinged-out harness… but her chest is too big for a size large to fit… but the rest of her body is too small for extra-large… she also has the problem where her neck is so much bigger than her head that she just slides right out of her collar… so… no jewels for her…

I was also going to listen to the singer Jewel while I was writing… but… after listening to the instructor drone on about marketing for six hours… I wasn’t in the mood for music so calm… which is why I used to listen to the Alaskan singer… back when she first debuted… and when I needed to go to bed… so… I failed with this Jewel too…

Thankfully… early in the day… I decided to play off the word Juul… and buy myself one of the eCigarettes… I thought that this would be the easiest of the three jewel-themed tasks… as a non-eSmoker being aware of the Juul name… I figured that these things would be at every gas station or vape shop… that is until the person at the vape shop informed me that even eSmokers are anti-Juul… and you can only get them at 7-11…

Since I’m not trying to pick up a new habit… I then ran over to 7-11 to see what I might find… and they had the Juul brand… so I asked the guy working the counter to grab me one… I thought that I asked the proper questions to get everything that I needed… so… I paid for the product and then I went home only to find that he only sold me the juice and not the battery… after a second trip… I got all of the supplies that I needed…

Getting the complete set wasn’t all that easy… first… the guy at the store tried to sell me the wrong style of vape battery… then when I found the correct one on a three-by-three product grid… I had to hear… “This one???”… nine times until he finally got to the last little product cubby-hole… I worked in a gas station… you should know everything that’s behind you simply from having downtime and looking around to not get bored… but… I guess this guy didn’t work like me…

As for the actual Juul side of this task goes… aside from the high from my first hit of Nicotine in about five years… I wasn’t a big fan of the task… and have no plans of going back to smoking tobacco products… but… I will commit to smoking my way through both Juul vape juice containers… in honor of Jewel Day…

And with that… I’m done with the task from yesterday… now it is time to see what the book has in store for today…

The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is Learn About Butterflies Day… which should be easy because… all that I have to do is talk to my mom who’s butterfly obsessed… I have a few other ideas in mind about how I can handle this task… but… as always… you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s post to see if said ideas come to fruition…
