Resolution #100: Buy A Matthew Lesko Book And Apply For Free Money!!!
/Date: 4-10-2014
Due Date: 4-10-2015
Resolution: In honor of my 100th resolution (the number of times a day I saw these commercials as a kid) and in sticking with the April Fools theme I will finally buy into decades worth of "too good to be true" marketing and buy a book from the Free Money series by Matthew Lesko.
I will not only buy said book but will go through and apply for all the free money that he claims is readily available to me because I would be crazy not to!!!
Result #100: I Successfully Bought The Magic Money-Making Book!!! But… I Then Failed To Qualify For Any Of The Programs…
Update #1: The Conclusion…
Date: 4-10-2015
I was hesitant to buy a Matthew Lesko book after reading a few of the negative reviews. Some claimed this book was worthless because you can find the same information in your local library. This is a dumb complaint for it to be about a five-dollar book. If anything I would have paid up to three times as much to have this information in one place without having to leave the house.
There were also valid complaints that this book does nothing to guide you through the application process. The only information it gives is a brief summary of the grant and a link to the website where you need to apply.
I would have been fine with this as well if only there was a grant in this book that I qualified for. Unfortunately, I'm not a senior citizen, student, homeowner, business owner, veteran, entrepreneur and I don't have a family to support or a major disease, so I didn't qualify for a single grant listed in this book.
I may revisit this book when I'm 55 or mature enough to own a house that needs fixing but until then I will just accept my failure and move on.
