Resolution #300: To Honor Making 300 Of These... I'll Bowl A 300 Game On Wii Bowling...
/Date: 10-27-2014
Due Date: 10-27-2015
The Resolution: Yes, I own a Wii. I got it from my mom for Christmas a few years ago. My favorite games are tennis, boxing, and bowling. Since I'm up to Resolution #300 I figured I'd seek out a 300 based project.
I narrowed it down to either spray painting a six-pack on my abs, throwing on some tighty whiteys, and dash around the apartment with a fake sword yelling, "This is SPARTA!!!"
This doesn't sound fun to me.
What does sound fun is buying a Wii Bowling Ball, A Wii Ball Bag, and a pair of bowling shoes to then attempt to bowl a 300.
Wish me luck.
Result #300: Even if I Do Manage To Wii Bowl A 300 Game By The End Of The Day… I Failed To Accessorize… A Key Aspect Of This Resolution...
Update #1: The Conclusion…
Date: 10-27-2015
I've always been a fan of the sport. My mom bowled in leagues and I remember spending time in bowling alley babysitting rooms as a kid. I may have also ended up in a league when I was old enough and I even took bowling in college.
You would think with all this bowling in my early life that I would be a pro as an adult, but I'm nothing more than average. It probably has something to do with the lack of practice and the fact that even though I have fond memories of the sport I probably remember playing more than I actually did.
The thing is… however… even though I'm not all that great in practice, I have the concepts of what makes a good bowler down, because of this, I've always been pretty good at bowling video games. Putting theory into practice is much easier in the virtual world.
I've been playing Wii bowling for the past couple of days in an attempt to bowl a 300 to fulfill today's resolution and have been getting pretty close. I'd say I average in the mid-two-hundreds… getting up into the high-two-hundreds from time to time.
Today I was going to buckle down until I finally pulled it off but then as I sat down to review the resolution to start this write-up, I realized there was actually more to this task than I remembered. I totally forgot that I was supposed to buy a Wii Ball, a Wii Ball Bag, and Bowling Shoes and use these accessories to accomplish this goal.
I could keep trying to bowl a 300 to have this be a technical success but I want to do it right, so this resolution is heading to the redemption pile.
As always, I'll keep you posted if I could pull this off.
