If you've followed this site at all I'm sure you can tell that, in general, I like to keep myself busy with project to fill the time. I have fun stuff going on around me to keep me entertained as I work but if I'm alone I'm working on something at all times.

Most of the time when I work on these projects I take a lot of mini breaks to keep me going. I set benchmarks and breakpoints to break up the monotony. Now these mini breaks are very mini, an example would be, write one page, play a game of solitaire, write another page. I choose games that I short by design so I lessen the risk of getting sucked in.

Ever since I started the web development class that I'm taking I've sort of done away with this breaking structure. Now I find that when I sit down to work on a project I get so focused that hours disappear and I don't even notice. Now I have to force myself to take breaks every couple hours to make sure that I don't burn myself out, which I think I managed to do on Saturday night when I accidentally stayed up until six in the AM.

The other thing I noticed is, even when I stay up that late, I find that I'm waking earlier than usual and even if I'm still tired I get up right away to get to work. I hope this is more than flash in the pan excitement from having a new toy because if I keep this pace up, I really think I could make a career out of web design and since there isn't much reading involved in my other site ideas people may actually look at my work!!!

Either way, I'm looking forward to getting my work to the point where I can share, which should be another week or so.

Of course, I'll keep you posted as I go.
