I think it may be time to shift gears yet again. I still want to continue my training in web development but I need a better part time job as I learn. As I've said many times in the past, I make enough to scrape by but I find myself waiting and saving for even the simplest expenses.

Though I like to fantasize about making a living right away off of my own sites, I'm still only three months into learning what I'm doing in a very competitive field.

So here's the new plan:

First off, I'm going to continue to take my web development classes, but I'm also going to start a couple career development courses (ie: resume writing, interview skills, and a career counseling course.) I'm hoping that the career counseling class will teach me to broaden the scope of jobs to look into because I don't want to return to any of the job fields that I've worked in in the past and have no idea how people find cool jobs that they aren't obviously qualified for.

I always here stories of people who go to school for one thing only to end up working jobs that love in completely unrelated fields. Meanwhile, I feel stuck applying for the same jobs and dreading getting hired because I feel stuck.

Oh well, we'll see how this turns out. Not much is going to change as far as you will be able to see, I'm just going to be taking different classes between my web dev classes.

As always, I'll keep you posted on my progress.
