What a difference a bed makes!!!

So it's been a little over a week that I got my new Purple mattress and I can't believe the benefits that I'm already feeling. The very first night was on and off. I slept soundly for the first six hours of sleep, which, by the way, was a better than average night sleep on its own, but struggled to fall back to sleep after getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

I think the second half struggle to fall back to sleep had to do more with overthinking my expectation because I found myself judging my ever toss and turn, overanalyzing the mattresses fit in my restless equation. I also made a mid-morning adjustment to my reclining bedframe that I think was the bigger culprit in my second half sleep discomfort, but I don't think discomfort is the proper phrase. I think I just got enough sleep making it hard to return to my slumber.

Ever since overthinking that first night, I've been getting a minimum eight hours of solid sleep every night. I don't even wake in the middle of the night anymore, which I used to enjoy because it felt like I was stealing a second sleep when I would realize that I had way more time to snooze.

Though I did enough my mid-dream intermission, I'm liking the consistently solid slumber much more. Now I wake feeling refreshed, my bones don't ache and I don't feel hungover even though I no longer drink. The solid night sleep also seems to be helping with my depression and I feel like I have more energy throughout the day.

I hope this is actually a new normal and not just a brief benefit from a new change. Either way, this new bed is far more comfortable than my old futon so I have no regrets.

As always, I'll keep you posted on my progress and let you know if there are any changes in my sleep.

Until then... I'll talk to you tomorrow,
