Last night I finally finished my assignment and am very happy with how it turned out!!!

The assignment was to create the layout for an audio playing app. We were told to create an app that would either play audio files directly from the user's device, a player that would stream audio or an app for playing podcasts. I decided to incorporate all options into one big device and here is what I came up with...

Keep in mind, this is an assignment in design so none of the audio features work but I'm hoping to learn what it would take to make this a fully functional app. Until then, here is what I was thinking.

The first option is the Jukebox...

Ultimately, I'd like users to be able to log in and connect with friends for a shared listening experience through a group created playlist. Each user would have 10 credits that they would use to select songs. These credits would be returned to the user once their song has played allowing them to select more music. There'd be a way to use multiple credits to boost their selections order in the playlist. These credits would be meant for equality in song selection and would never cost a dime.

Next, I built this radio app...

It looks like an AM FM radio but this would actual stream music by genre. This would work like a radio, in that, users wouldn't be able to fast forward or rewind. Ever user that is listening to a specific genre would be listening to the same exact feed, bringing back share experience of listening to music. Since there is less choice, the like and dislike input would have a lot of weight as to how heavily each song will end up in the rotation.

Finally, I made a Podcast Player...

This would be a standard Podcast Player but I do have ideas that I would like to add a feature that would allow users to record their own Podcast using their phones.  Of the ideas, this podcast recorder (not the play) is the idea I'm the most interested in developing once I figure out how to do that sort of thing.

If you have an Android phone and would like to check out what I've got you can install it here...

Now it's time to take a break and rest up before starting my next lesson.

Talk to you tomorrow,
