Dateline 5-4-2017

I am so close to getting caught up to where I was before Jury Duty. I should get there by the end of the day today or the end of tomorrow at the latest. Once I do get caught up, I'm going to need to get back to the job hunt as the last opportunity that I was told that I had if I were able to pass a prescreening test seems to have disappeared into the ether. 

I'm pretty pissed off about this one because they contacted me over two months ago say that the position was going to open in two weeks and then it took them over a month to finally get back to me.

Meanwhile, since I was under the impression that I actually had work lined up, I started to ease up on my job hunt, excited to finally have a consistent enough income to afford to get back into the Android Development classes that I had to stop after my last contract expired. 

Those two weeks passed and I heard nothing. They didn't give an exact date so I was patient. Two more weeks passed and I decided to finally check in. They apologized right away and sent me a link to start the screening process.

I finished everything that they sent right away and of course, two more weeks go by and again, I hear nothing. I have to fire off yet another email and again they respond pretty quickly with some excuse for the delay and a reassurance that it will just take a couple more days to work out some issue that had nothing to do with me.

Now two more weeks have passed, and I've sent a follow-up email only to hear nothing. This sucks because now I'm going to have to start the dreaded job hunt all over again, especially in this new climate where it takes months to get through the hiring process which seems to make it so that you end up accepting whatever shitty job finally manages to get their shit together enough to make an offer.

I wish I could just find something that I don't mind doing in order to make a living until I can get to the point where I can earn money on my own terms to where it doesn't even feel like work at all. At least that the dream.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to continue to wait and see what happens.
