Dateline 5-7-2017
/Yesterday ended up being pretty much a repeat of the day before, minus the booze that is. I woke up nice and early and wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible so I could have total control over the bulk of my Saturday.
Again, as I always point out, I'm a fully aware that these deadlines are self-imposed making them meaningless in the grand scheme of things but that's the same way that I've felt about most of the jobs that I've had throughout my life, the only difference being the paycheck. I mean, I spent a bulk of my paid career printing supplemental documents that I'm willing to bet at least 95% of which gets either stored away or tossed without so much as a read.
That said, my little insignificant project may leave me unpaid for my efforts but it also leaves me feeling fulfilled which is more than I can say than anything that I've ever done for pay and that's including my brief film career that I actually loved.
So, when I sat down to get to my work only to find the internet was still acting up, it was enough to almost throw me over the edge. In the past, I'm sure something would have ended up broken from being thrown across the room especially since this was the second day of this nonsense and before the crash, I was on a pace to finish by noon.
I did go on a nice rant where I yelled at my computer and called it a bunch of inappropriate names but I'm trying to work on my anxiety based anger so I stepped away from the situation and opted to take a nap.
This turned out to be a very good idea because even though I felt I was awake and full of energy, this quick timeout turned into a three and a half hour session of sleep which on its own is only two hours shy of what I usually get in a day.
This not only put me in a better mood but the internet was back to running smoothly and has been running strong ever since. Hopefully, this means that whatever was going on with the router has worked itself out and our internet will continue to chug along until it reaches next month's chunk of downtime.
Maybe today I'll be able to pull off the early end to my blogging day so that I can have some fun with the family without having any loose end obligations occupying the back of my mind.
And with that, I bid you adieu until I check in tomorrow.
Talk to you then,
The Wicker Breaker
