I'm now back from my three-day "mini-vacay" and it's time to get back to work on my nonsense. Though I have doubled down on my reviews in the past in order to take a day off from watching Saturday Night Live, this is the first time I've tripled down to take this much time off and I'm hoping the break will refresh my energy toward the show.

That's not really to say that I at all feel burnt out from this challenge but I am coming off of a season that I wasn't a huge fan of and going into a season with a questionable cast that only lasts a year. So I'll be able to recover from one bad year while bracing myself for the next.

That said, this upcoming season that I kind of dread, is one of the weird seasons that is traditionally hated by SNL fans just like the Gilbert Gottfried, which is actually my favorite season outside of the seasons with the original cast.

This is the year where Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Michael  Hall, Randy Quaid, and Joan Cusack were accused of ruining the show but my eye is on Terry Sweeney as the person to blame if it doesn't end up getting better with age.

I actually have high hopes for this season because I feel this is another backlash following the show's loss of Eddie Murphy and then both Billy Crystal and Martin Short one year attempt to take his place, which I thought was actually a failure, at least through my modern eyes. I also feel that the above-mentioned SNL "failures" were successful enough in the follow-up careers that it will be interesting to see them in the past.

Oh well, we'll see what happens very soon as I will be starting the first episode of the season within an hour or two.

Talk to you tomorrow with how it turns out.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
