Operation Achieve Anything: Day One-Hundred-Eight, Dateline 4-18-2018

Attempt the impossible in order to improve your work.
— Bette Davis

Good afternoon Crickets. Welcome to my late start of day number one-hundred-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. I guess it’s not really all that late since I’m starting to write this before the midday hour of noon but it is a bit later than usual considering I usually start closer to 10:30 in the AM. Part of the reason for this late start is that I slept in a couple extra hours in an effort to recapture the extra energy that I’ve had lately due to a spike in my level of enthusiasm.

Right now my energy is feeling a little low but thankfully I think this drop-off is more of a correction from the above mentions spike and not that I’m slipping into another deep depression. Part of the correction comes from the fact that the money I’ve been making through advertising has leveled out with a much lower payout than I was expecting base on the analytics estimations.

Now that I’ve had the ad up and running for a while and see how it actually works it’s going to be a much bigger effort to keep the money coming in even at the couple dollars a day level that I thought would be easy to maintain considering the traffic to my site may be low but it’s very consistent, which is why I thought that the payout would be consistent as well but that’s simply not the case.

This is partially the reason my enthusiasm is a bit low but I am by no means discouraged. I just need to regroup in order to come up with a new plan of attack which isn’t that big of a surprise to me considering that I’m now at the bottom rung of the next level of my blogging venture. Even though it’s a bit of a bummer that making a few extra bucks isn’t going to be as easy as it started out to seem, I still see the fact that I’m making the money that I am as a sign that I’m still making progress, so my enthusiasm isn’t completely dead.

Sorry if it seems like I’m overusing the work enthusiasm but it’s still the theme of the Achieve Anything… book where yesterday’s assignment was to reflect on the quote about enthusiasm equalling the God in us. As an Atheist, I’m a bit offended by this especially since the book uses that old trick where it claims that you don’t have to be religious just to play along while giving other examples of what God can mean. Meanwhile, it’s obvious what God they are talking about.

This approach annoys me because it is used all of the time, like in AA where one of the things is that according to them, you’re required to give into a high power in order to get their system to work. They also use the whole, you don’t have to be religious you just have to believe in some sort of all-powerful being. This would be like telling a vegan that you truly respect their choice and that there is no need for them to change their eating habits, only to then offer then a book that claims how eating just a tiny bit of meat will solve all of their problems.

The thing that bothers me the most about this approach is how these same people are never the type that would never humor me in the same way and view the world through my Atheistic eyes to see why I take issues with a guy in the sky considering the condition that the world is in. Between all the wars and the starving in this world, while all of the religious leaders sit on their wealth and hold on to ancient grudges, I wouldn’t listen to any advice from this great planner whether it was a magical man in the sky or just a force and not a being, so I don’t really care about the connection between any form of God and my enthusiasm, even if the book simply wants me to be the similarities between my creative ventures and those of a great creator.

Sorry for the antitheist tone to this post but as the world continues to grow crazier and crazier over this battle of beliefs, I don’t want to play any form of religious games even if the guide to the game claims that it’s not really based on religion but is instead is just an exploration into spirituality. I’ve got my own set of morals that I wouldn’t regret even if I came face to face with what I believe is a fictional being and feel the world would be a better place if people developed morals on their own instead of just accepting the belief system of the geographical region they were born in especially since we are no longer as stuck in the same tiny world that was the focus of biblical days.

Thankfully, today’s has a completely different tone as the era of enthusiasm is over and the book is now focusing on attempting the impossible in order to achieve the impossible since it literally is impossible to complete even the most possible task if you never give it a shot. This is another area where I shine considering I’m a dyslexic individual whose only dream has been to figure out how to live off my writing for over two decades by now.

As always, you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s update to see how I handle this task. Until then, it’s now time for me to wrap this up as usual by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
