Operation Achieve Anything: Day One-Hundred-Forty-Two, Dateline 5-22-2018

Great minds have purposes, others have wishes.
— Washington Irving

Good morning crickets. Welcome to day number one-hundred-forty-two of Operation Achieve Anything. I think this is going to be another quick one since I’m still not fully used to my new schedule that came with steady work and the Achieve Anything… book doesn’t have me feeling all that inspired. I can’t wait to work through the schedule issue because I feel like it’s affecting my SNL reviews as well. I just feel so tired and rushed to fit everything into my day, even though I’ve yet to even come close to missing a deadline.

As for the book leaving me uninspired, it’s just another case where the lessons are focused on pushing concepts that are already obvious to me. For example, yesterday’s assignment was to search my soul for something I am passionate about. I don’t know who these people are who could get this deep into a book about achieving goals without having anything they were already passionate about but for me, that passion is obviously writing and it has been for over twenty years.

I might be a little more excited about the road that led me to find this passion but I’ve already shared the same tale multiple times in the past while fulfilling the tasks from very similar assignments in the past. This repetitiveness of assignments and lesson themes may be fine for a quick read but it can be a bit annoying when trying to share your progress only to keep saying the same thing again and again and again.

At least today’s assignment has a bit of a twist where I get to rip paper and throw it away. For this task, I’m supposed to draw a line down the center of a piece of paper and on one side write my purposes and on the other write my wishes. Purpose, being something you’re drawn to do leaving no question as to whether or not the task will be completed and wishes, being more like dreams that you just really want and completion requires either luck or an act of God.

This will be an interesting one because I feel like I have some purposes that feel like wishes and vice versa. Of course, you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s update in order to figure out what I’m talking about through, what I hope to be, a much more inspired post. We’ll see how it goes. Until then, it’s now time for me to wrap this thing up by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
