Operation Achieve Anything: Day One-Hundred-Ninety-Three, Dateline 7-12-2018
/Good morning Crickets. Welcome to day number one-hundred-ninety-three of Operation Achieve Anything. Yesterday/earlier today, considering it's currently just a little after midnight, was another successful effort into transitioning into a graveyard split schedule where I plan to do all my blogging in the early AM to then do my day job when there is sun.
At first, this plan was to cope with the fact that my sciatica has me doing all of my work from bed making it hard to put in so many hours of typing while lying on my stomach and resting on my elbows. Now that I'm starting to get into the groove, I think I may stick to this schedule even after I get back to the point where I can again sit in a chair.
Even though I thought I was over it when I randomly became a morning person, there's still just something that I love about writing while the rest of the world's asleep. That, and I also like how it breaks my day into two smaller chunks instead of always have to blast through my entire day all at once. Now, I just need to adapt to the bizarre sleep schedule.
Last night, I finished my blog obligations by 2:30 in the AM only to get hit with a second wind. I then stayed up until 4:00 in the AM to then wake at 8:00 in the AM, unready for anything at all. I kept trying to fall back to sleep and was successful for half hours at a time until noon when I finally gave up on sleeping in order to get back to work.
I feel if I could sleep straight until 10:00 in the AM, I'd have enough sleep to delve into the day job with enough energy to focus and get things done. While I have sciatica, that would give me two more hours to rest when I am done before heading into the how to watch prime time TV with the family before starting the cycle again.
This sort of ties into yesterday's assignment where the Achieve Anything... book is now shifting its theme to start to focus on obstacles. In many ways, this new obstacle section is very reminiscent of the uncertainty section in the book suggest that obstacles can actually lead to inspiration.
As for the actual task, I was supposed to determine whether I approached obstacles with fear or if I did already see them as opportunities. As you can see from all of the adjustments that I've made since my sciatica started acting up, without taking a single break, I just see obstacles as a way of life, and sometimes I see unexpected benefits while I attempt to overcome them. At the same time, I wouldn't go as far as to say that I see hurdles as a positive thing in general. I just don't know what else to do other than to keep moving.
As for today's assignment, the theme is still obstacles and the task is still to explore how I view them, this time adding in the concept of fear and whether or not I let fear slow me down or keep on moving ahead. The paragraph above pretty much spoils my answer but you'll still have to wait for tomorrow's post to see what else I have to say. Until then, it's now time for me to sign off by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.
Talk to you soon.
Sincerely,
The Wicker Breaker
