Operation Achieve Anything: Day Two-Hundred-Forty-Eight, Dateline 9-5-2018

The splendid discontent of God with Chaos, made the world; And from the discontent of man the world’s best progress springs.
— Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Good afternoon crickets. Welcome to day number two-hundred-forty-eight of Operation Achieve Anything. I’m setting myself up for a rough next couple of months, but at the same time, it should also be rather fun. As you may see from the note at the top of this page (at the time of writing this post), I had a spellchecker incident that’s led the entire site to be filled with typos from said spellchecker not committing the changes when I would hit the publish button to share my posts.

Between this spellchecker issue, that went on for a couple of years, and the overall sloppiness of my older work, I figure now is the time to go back and recheck the entire site using a technique that will actually work. This is going to be a super long process since I’ve been making multiple posts a day going back over a half-decade. I’m up for the task because it will also allow me to turn each segment into a bunch of eBooks to allow even more access to the content.

To do this, I will be switching back to a graveyard schedule in order to optimize my day to fit in the most amount of work. The idea would be that I would start each new day at midnight with a walk where I will fit in my Fitbit steps to get them out of the way. This will take an hour and a half to two hours and will be followed by four hours worth of work on my day job.

This should take me up to somewhere between six and seven-thirty in the AM. After work, I’ll sleep until two in the PM. Since the things that I hate to do will be done, I’ll then get to spend the rest of the day having fun with this blog with a couple hour television break for some prime time entertainment with the family. I’m usually back in my room between ten-thirty and eleven o’clock in the PM giving me an hour plus to do what I want until starting the process all over again.

I will keep this up until I clean up the entire site and create the various eBook. After that, I may or may not go back to my old schedule, but I may keep it up while I start my next planned project. Since all of this extra effort is an attempt to get to a more comfortable future, it kind of goes against yesterday’s assignment where I was supposed to practice living in the now.

Then again, even though it may appear that I’m constantly chasing a potential future outcome since my efforts always involve passion projects, I really enjoy the process and feel somewhat inspired by the struggles. I’ve always felt that picturing the potential future payouts is a way to help me cope with the struggles of the here and now. That said, the Achieve Anything… book was talking about those who are jealous of their peers who may be ahead of the game.

Since I never wanted to live a life of normalcy, I’ve never felt all that jealous of my peers and the result of their efforts. I’ve been extremely bummed out when our paths split ways, but I’ve always understood that I live a life with no permanence. Even now, as I feel more and more confident in the direction that I’m heading, I have no plans to double back because I only hold onto the past when I’m afraid of losing the present. Once the now is entirely gone, my sights are on the future but, as much as I complain, I still enjoy the view as I go.

What I’ve written above actually plays into today’s assignment as well since today’s lesson provided the opposite look at the quote from yesterday. Where yesterday we were supposed to practice living in the now to be happy, the focus today is on how you can use discontent toward your current life as motivation to move forward. I had no plan to address this through yesterday’s task, but here we are.

Since I’ve already covered how this new advice is actually my standard approach, I’m not entirely sure how I’ll end up handling this assignment so, I guess we’ll both have to wait for tomorrow post to see how I figure it out. Until then, it’s now time for me to sign off by saying, good day and good luck to you and all of your projects.

Talk to you soon.

Sincerely,

The Wicker Breaker
