/I'm kind of torn as to what to do with my current app assignment. I have to build the front end features for a media player app which means I only have to focus on the layout and the button functionality. I haven't been taught how to implement streaming sound or access the metadata for local sound files so I'm happy that they did leave me to my own devices to figure that out.
It's been a fun project but I'm going overboard once again. I have my app built to a point where I could easily turn it in and get a passing grade but I can't help but add extra features to get it to how I originally saw the end product in my head.
Part of me wants to just rush through the assignments so that I can complete the course quicker with hopes that it will lead to a higher paying/stable job. The other part of me feel that if I focus on these extra features I'll have a stronger portfolio that'll make my job hunt easier as I don't have any experience in the field.
I'm definitely leaning toward the latter of the plans but I can't help but feel like I'm wasting time on bells and whistles. That said, I can tell that I'm making progress because I spend far less time fixing problems and can do a lot more coding off the top of my head. Hopefully, this means that I'll be able to get through my future assignments a lot faster even when I go above and beyond what the instructor is asking for.
I'm aiming to have this assignment done by the end of the weekend. Wish me luck and as always I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Talk to you tomorrow,
