This is my second Saturday since starting my new job and since I’m still not settled into the new schedule, I’m going to take full advantage of my day off and as soon as I finish my blogging obligations I’m going to consider myself done for the day. Thankfully, the assignments that I’m here to report on are super easy so this post is going to be quick.

As I said the other day, getting paid once a month kind of sucks because of all the waiting but I love how big the paychecks are this way without having to think of saving. For this check, it was extra hard to wait because they sent me an automated email a week ago that it was on the way.

I’m starting to get a little antsy as I way for my first significant paycheck in a while to come in. Last month, I worked a couple of one-off gigs for the company that I’m now working on a long-term assignment for that pays only once a month which sucks because there is so much time between paycheck to paycheck, but it’s also great because it forces me to save.

It’s my second Monday working my new “day job” and I’m excited to get to work since I finally feel comfortable with what the job expects from me. As I said last week, this is an online job with very little supervision to the point where I asked a question on my very first day and didn’t get a response until three days later, leading me to fear that I was screwing things up the entire time and that I was going to end up getting fired.

Again, this is an online job where there is absolutely no one to contact to clear up any confusion. The job itself is like modern customer support where they expect you to do all of the research to figure thing out on your own before reaching out to a human to then make you feel like your being a burden for making them do their job.

As soon as I finish this post I’ll be switching gears for day number three of my new “day job.” I’m still just a tad bit lost since it’s a work from home job where they expect you to figure any issues out on your own. In fact, on day number one I wasn’t even sure if I was technically allowed to start since no one would get back to me. Thankfully, I’ve grown used to this treatment because I’ve been working one-off jobs through this company for many years because otherwise, I might fear that this was a scam.

Not really because of the job but it definitely does play a part. I’m more excited for this week to be over because I have a pretty big paycheck coming in from a couple of one-off gigs, and I really can’t wait live a little more luxurious for a couple of week with the added comfort of knowing that even bigger checks will now be coming in on a more regular basis.

Me, I’m feeling fine but am in a bit of a limbo mode as I wait to see whether or not I landed the permanent part-time job that I was contacted on Friday about. The fact that the company that contacted me is the same one that hires me regularly for one-off jobs has me feeling confident but at the same time, it wouldn’t be the first time that I felt I was a perfect fit for a permanent position only to end up getting turned down.
