365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Nineteen - 1/19/2021

One Creative Introverts Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day nineteen of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where I’m enjoying this new structure… where I start each day sharing the results of the assignment from the prior day and then finish each post with an introduction to the assignment for the current day… it works much better than trying to come up with a ramble that I would then attempt to build to a transition into a brief assignment introduction and a rushed note about how I plan to fulfill the task… or how I already did…

Now I’ll have at least 24 hours to actually complete each task… instead of just technically fulfilling the assignment to check it off the list and then be done for the day… like yesterday… for Winnie The Pooh Day… in the past… I would have just noted how in honor of the day that I’d stop being such an Eeyore with a few details about how I planned to achieve this goal… and then be done for the day…

With this new format… I now have this introduction area to share how everything played out… like how yesterday… I had a doctor’s appointment to meet my new primary caregiver… after my last doctor quit to take care of her mom… she was the best doctor I ever had… because I felt like she actually listened to me and wasn’t just going through a checklist to figure out a specialist to send me to and get me out of their hair… the way my last couple of doctor’s seemed to do…

Ready for the latter treatment… I was nervous when I woke up… but then… after I set the task to stop being so Eeyore-ish… I changed my attitude… and armed with personal evidence of before and after changes since my sinus surgery… I built my case about what I felt was going on with confidence… since… a lot of the issues that are really bothering me have yet to be diagnosed… possibly because of my wishy-washy lack of confidence while explaining my condition in the past… may have made it seem more psychosomatic and not really physical…

Minus the ear issue that cleared up… following my sinus surgery… most of the buzzing in my head is gone… buzzing that I also thought was a mental condition… until I started to feel the physical relief… ever since… I’ve been less Eeyore-ish in general… with fewer worries about my health… so between more overall health improvements and assignment from yesterday… I was able to not be an Eeyore enough to be able to share my situation with my new doctor… without ever feeling that my insights were being dismissed…

And now that I shared the rest of the results from yesterday’s task… It’s time to see what’s in store for today!!!

According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… today is Popcorn Day… a movie-goer’s treat that I’ve always had mixed feelings about… with fond memories of eating popcorn for meals back when I worked in a movie theater as a pup… and then there are the angry moments when the popped kernel skins get caught in my throat and teeth…

Since this is a marketing challenge… I plan to celebrate Popcorn Day by also celebrating a couple of my favorite marketing traps… one being the “New Product” from an old school brand… and the other trap being the high-end version of an affordable treat… and in sticking to the new format… you’ll have to wait until tomorrow in order to see how things end up going down…

Talk to you then!!!
