Welcome to day number thirty-nine of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where I just got done changing the last page with multiple H1 tags on this site… or at least all of the pages that I could find with this problem… it was much easier to find all of The Wicker Breaker’s flaws back when I was using a free month’s worth of Moz.com SEO tools and services… actually… they were nice enough to give me two free months… since the first month I only corrected issues that could be found using free SEO auditing tools…
Unfortunately… I can barely afford to pay for my hosting fees… let alone an additional one-hundred dollars a month… for a tool that’s too advanced for me at this stage of my marketing career… considering the fact… that even during the extra free month… I still only used the SEO auditing tools to fix pretty common mistakes… but even that was nice… since there were no limitations on how many pages each audit would crawl…
Having just finished my last SEO task of hunting down those pesky duplicate H1 tags… that I used to also use for emphasis and not just page titles… which is what made them so hard to find… I’m now lost as to which SEO task that I should get to next… so… I decided to sign up for a free week of SEMRush to give me some ideas of how to improve my SEO score even more… right now… it’s running its first full site scan… which could take a few hours… so… I’ll share what I think when I check in with tomorrow’s post…
Until then… I’m going to consider this my marketing update for the day… and with that… it’s time to move on to see how I handled the assignment from yesterday…
According to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… yesterday was Dump Your Significant Jerk Day… which is hard for me… considering the fact that I have no jerk significant or otherwise to dump in order to fulfill this task… but… I did end yesterday’s post suggesting that I may consider booze to be a significant jerk to dump… being I’m down to drinking only once a month… and don’t really have a good reason to do so… since I no longer have friends to keep it fun…
I think this could technically work… because when I do go on my monthly bender… it feels like hanging out with an old ex… who’s fun to see for a while… but then you regret reaching out when you realize nothing has changed… so… I think I’m going to commit to quitting drinking as my approach to dump my significant jerk… at least until the end of this challenge… so… you shouldn’t see any more drunken tweets from me… at least not until New Year’s Day…
This is another technical fulfillment of a task… but I’ll take it… and with that… it’s time to see what the book has for me today…
The 365 Days Of Marketing book says that today is Man Day… which is another “fun” one for me… considering how broad of a topic this is and how I haven’t been all that inspired by the past few themed days from the book… that said… I’m sure that I’ll figure something out to post about Man by the time I check in tomorrow… once again… I can’t wait to see what I come up with to share…
BTW… I hope that I don’t sound discouraged… I’m actually still having fun… I’m just not fully back in my groove since I took a hiatus from writing… I also don’t really like how I’ve been handling the announcement of the assignment for the current day… with most of my energy going to the non-book related marketing task… and the assignment from the day before… but… I’m sure I’ll figure it all out… which hopefully should be pretty soon… I just hope that people enjoy watching a project’s growth…
