365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Five - 1/5/2021

One Creative Introverts Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day number five of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… where I seem to finally be settling into a routine… over the anxiety of getting everything just right for my return to blogging after taking two years off to tend to a few mental and physical health issues… on top of that… I’m also over the fact that my efforts to optimize this page… with the hopes of having this perfect for my return… but… me being me… I ended up messing everything up in the process… as usual…

In fact… I now see these last-minute fumbles to be part of my process… and other than the frustration of noticing one of Murphey’s Law come to fruition… I know that I can and will adjust in ways that usually improve the project in the end… it’s kind of like a person who waits for the last minute to do an assignment because they need deadline pressures to inspire them…

As I said yesterday… I do zero preplanning for these challenges… not because I’m lazy and don’t want to put in the work… but because I personally feel that the real-time discovery of flaws and solutions is what keeps me obsessed with each project long enough to see it through to the end… if everything were to play out perfectly from start to finish… I’d probably get too bored to make it to the end…

I’m sort of glad that I broke my site while adjusting its SEO… because… now that I’ve found that the 365 Days Of Marketing book that I’m using for this project’s framework isn’t quite what I expected… based on the title… leading me to need more meat to keep this project interesting to me… and the SEO issues that I unintentionally created will provide a marketing-based side story to chime in with updates as they come…

My problem with the 365 Days Of Marketing book is that it’s great for a physical store or for a person who’s part of a marketing team… and not really for marketing content… now that I’ve had time to read more of the book’s intro… the pattern to the assignments… though fun… aren’t all that easy to adapt into helpful advice to introverts trying to monetize their creative efforts…

Each chapter starts with a breakdown of what a month is known for… like how January is Poverty In America Month, Oatmeal Month, Get Organized Month… and so on and so on… the author then gives suggestions for gift bags and team building ideas to celebrate each of these themes… after this breakdown… the book then suggests a theme a day for you to focus on… with more suggestions of gift bags and team-building projects for a marketing team…

After yesterday’s task… I decided… in order to stick with the marketing promise of this challenge… I will honor the book’s suggested theme for each day by promoting an old project of mine that pairs the best with the task at hand from the book’s assignment… and for my side-story goal… by the end of the year… I want to get The Wicker Breaker to the point where there are zero errors on the Google Search Console… Bing Webmaster Tool… and whichever SEO grading tool that I determine will fit the challenge the best… I’ll let you know which one I go with as soon as I decide…

But for now… it’s time to move on to today’s assignment…

According to the book 365 Days Of Marketing... January 5th is Trivia Day… too bad I would need a refresher course… and get my desktop computer up and running again… or else I would share the WWE trivia app that I build while earning an Android Development Nanodegree… but instead I’ll just share the screenshots since I still have the app on my old phone…

One of these days… when I’m less desperate to figure out how to earn an income… and have more time… from not having to spend all the hours just trying to find gig work… let alone the time to do the gig… I plan to take refresher courses to get back into building frivolous apps to promote this site and/or other projects that I started back when I was still in class…

But… for now… 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… is what I’ll be working on with all of my spare time…

And With That… Here Are The Numbers For The Past Seven Days!!!
