365 Days Of Marketing And Me: Day Four - 1/4/2021

One Creative Introverts Effort To Take On The Extroverted Marketing World…

Welcome to day number four of 365 Days Of Marketing And Me… sorry I’ve yet to design a fancy header image and am still using placeholder images with a templated layout… I still have about 4k errors to fix… errors caused by me shortening most of my URLs in an effort to improve my SEO score… only I forgot to look into ALL of the steps to make sure I did it correctly… hence the low revenue you’ll see at the bottom of this page…

Though I now build my websites from code… The Wicker Breaker was build using Square Space and ASSuming me… thought that when I made such a change… the service would make said change universal… again… I take the blame… I just wish I would have looked into it first so that I would have set up a process to change the name and create all the redirects needed all at once…

I’m fine with it though… because I’m only four days back in the game after taking two years off… so I still feel a little rusty… of yeah… and I also can start with the design aspect until I can afford to buy a new power supply for my desktop computer… that was literally destroyed by bugs… the damn thing made a racket as it was chopped up by the cooling fan… before apparently shorting out a circuit…

So yeah… that’s where my life is at…

Good thing I have a laptop… but it’s old… and even in it’s prime it could only run a couple of programs at a time… so I doubt that it will be able to handle Photoshop well enough to avoid me throwing the thing across the room thanks to all of the screen freezing… hell… I’ve almost ended up computer-less after a bout with endless wheel spinning from having more than four tabs open in Chrome…

Thankfully… now that this inner ear issue that’s been bugging me for years seems to be settling… after a sinus operation that now lets that area near my ear drain properly… I’m getting much better at calming myself… I’ll still going into a Tourette’s filled outburst when computer things don’t go my way… but… more like a person yelling at a video game and less like a person who’s going insane…

As I said the other day… it’s also interesting to see how breathing through a nose without a deviated septum actually brings in enough oxygen to actually feel refreshed after you take a deep inhale… with my old nose… about halfway through a deep breathe… one side would be closed… while the other nostril would be fighting to bring in enough air… maybe this is why I’ve never been able to figure out meditation???

Now that I may actually be able to use meditative breathing techniques… I might have to give it another shot…

But for now… it’s time to move on to today’s assignment…

Now that I’ve finished sharing a few of my ailments… it’s interesting to see that… according to the 365 Days Of Marketing book… today is… World Braille Day!!!

Again… the book has several ideas for gift bags for customers and workshops for employees geared at building awareness for those who can’t see… and again their suggestions don’t really work for me… as a shut-in with only free content to share at this time… maybe someday I’ll be successful enough to be able to afford items to give away… or have employees or coworkers to talk to… but until then… I’ll keep using the daily theme provided more like a writing/marketing prompt… to at least stay on topic…

To celebrate World Braille Day through marketing… I decided to market a post from an old project that had something to do with Braille… and it turns out that on day One-Hundred-Twenty-Three of 365 Days Of Resolution… I bought a money Brailling device… and set out to mark every dollar that went through my hands with a Braille marking noting the monetary value to help the blind…

Though it was fun punching what little money that I had… I was disappointed that my boss… while working at a pharmacy… wasn’t into the idea of me Brailling all the store’s cash… keeping in mind… I was a shift leader who had open access to all the cash in the back office so it’s not like I’d be doing it in front of the customers… I guess I was just surprised that a manager of a pharmacy was more interested in me stalking candy… over taking advantage of the free marketing potential from when the customers would notice all the Brailled money they’d get as change from buying their cigarettes and might think… hey… it’s cool what this store… that’s part of the medical field… is actually doing something cool for the disabled…

Nope… it was more important to set up displays for the people shopping while being forced to wait for a college-educated individual to count out 30 pills slow enough to meet the 15-minute average pharmacy wait time goal… it’s that type of shit that makes me hate business and marketing… that was the job that led to my mid-life meltdown and cause me to move home…

Now… I’m in charge of everything at this time… and am opening up to the idea of marketing since I no longer have to ask anyone to sign off on any of my ideas… too bad my influential reach is still too insignificant for these ideas matter… but… I’m working on it…

And With That… Here Are The Numbers For The Past Seven Days!!!
