Resolution #234: Use One Eye-Patch And One Ear-Plug In A Creativity Experiment...
/Date: 8-22-2014
Due Date: 8-22-2015
Resolution: Yesterday, while stocking the shelves at work, I was in the eye and ear care section and I noticed that we are now selling a new style of eye-patch. For some reason this got me thinking about right-brain thinking versus left-brain thinking.
Just to the left of the eye patches is our ear-plug section. This led to another one of those, "You put your chocolate in my peanut butter," moments that led to this resolution.
I'm going to buy an eye patch and some ear-plugs and over the next year, I'm going to perform a creativity experiment.
The experiment?
Randomly throughout the year when I have back to back days off, I'm going to cover my right eye and plug my right ear one of the days and then do the same to the left side on the next. I will go about each day performing my resolution tasks per usual and note any differences I experience.
Result #234: Though I'm 99% Sure That I Have A New Job… I'm 100% Sure That I Will Revisit This Failure To Experiment As Soon As I Have A Steady Income Once Again…
Update #1: The Conclusion…
Date: 8-22-2015
Once again I'm feeling like a broken record, having to explain that I didn't get to a resolution because I've been so broke since my move from Seattle to San Diego. I'm supposed to start a part-time job this coming week. I may not be making enough to afford some of the bigger resolutions but I look forward to being able to afford these low budget tasks.
I really hope that having a steady income will lead to a revival of my enthusiasm for this project. I still enjoy the resolutions, it's one of the few positive things I have going for me right now, I just wish I could afford to put more effort into it because I do have the time.
Oh well, we'll see what happens.
