Damn it, how come every time I seem to fall into a groove the rug almost instantly gets pulled out from under me? Last night, I discovered that my short term job may be even shorter termed than I thought. The hiring agency claimed that it would go until the end of the year but could go a little longer due to the fact that it's a batch assignment, meaning the work's not done until the batch is done and the assignment could run long.

I like that the emphasize that it could go long without the heads up that there is also a chance that it could run short depending on the efficiency of the work crew. I was never expecting that it would take three days to get through ALL the work. Well, there may be one more small batch after Christmas but even that's not going to come anywhere near the 30 hours a week I was expecting when I signed on to this short term venture.

Oh well, it's not that bad. I worked a lot of hours when the work was available to me, enough hours in three days to earn as much as I did working a month at my last job (again my last job was just over an hour a day). Now that I'm in the system, all I need is to land one of these gigs a month to make the minimum amount I need to scrape by. Now that I'm in the system, I there is a realistic possibility that this could be a reality.

This does free up my time to get back to work on my schooling though so it's now time to get to settle in and learn for a bit.
