Well that was quick!!!

Last night I made my first attempts to apply for new employment. I found a potential gig that looked pretty interesting so I started the application process. This was one of these new school online applications that take about two hours to complete.

First, there were the standard forms to fill out with contact information and experience. Then I had to fill out a short essay form explaining why I would be a good fit for the job as well as a writing sample which I can only partially see the relevance. Finally, I finished off with an hour long tests which was pretty much just an hour of performing the tasks that I'd be doing if hired.

This seems to be the way with a lot of work from home jobs and why hunting for work isn't as quick and easy as it was when you used to be able to create a Monster.com account to just click apply to whatever job tickles your fancy.

In the past, it's taken forever for these companies to respond to my application if they respond at all. That's why I pretty excited that I heard back from this company before I even went to bed. No, I didn't get the job but I am on to the next stage where I have to take two more test to land the job.

I'm not all that worried about these new test as they are just advanced versions of the test I've already taken which I found to be a fun activity and is why I'm a bit excited to potentially have this as a job. I'm also excited about this potential employment because I'd still get to set my own schedule but I would be able to work more hours at a better rate to be paid on a weekly basis.

I really hope that I land this new job because if it works the way I see it playing out in my head I'll finally be able to stop scraping by and get back to living like I was fully employed. I'd have extra money to do things, I'd be able to finance projects that have been back-burnered for close to two years. Best of all, this would be enough work that I would feel more justified to take breaks when I need them without feeling as much guilt.

I'm still feeling a little midday grogginess from just waking up, as soon as my mind clears I'll take a stab at these final tasks in the hiring process and hopefully, I'll have an update on the issue by the end of next week.

Until then, I'll keep you posted with my normal nonsense through these letters to no one.

Talk to you tomorrow,

The Wicker Breaker
