/I think I'm going to change The Daily Breaker to be an end of the day post instead of being something that I do upon waking. When I first started this segment, I was working on the 365 Day of Resolution and this was purely meant to be a checklist of the resolutions that I planned to work on that day, so this would have to be done first thing in the morning since it was what I used to set my day.
Last year, when I almost gave up on doing this blog, I decided to keep up this segment alive in lieu of starting another challenge and that's how this evolved to be more of the daily journal entry it's become. At that point, I kept writing these post in the morning out of tradition and to just get the thing out of the way.
Now that I've got this Seeso Many Saturday Nights challenge going on, I'm no longer as wishy-washy bout the future of this site. That said, I have more energy about what I want to say but my inspiration doesn't really set in until it gets dark.
Take last night for example. Last night I was hell bent on the idea that I was going to share my dream for my future in this morning post. I jotted down a couple keynotes and was feeling pretty passionate about what I wanted to say.
Then, I woke up and sat down to right only to be stuck in present time unable to tap into the playful space I've created in my head that I venture into at night. I'm sure I could transcribe my notes right now but I feel like it would be flat and not as fantastical as a day-dream deserves to be portrayed.
Last night is far from the first night that I've built up an expectation in my head as to what I would write in the morning only to end up chickening out due to the weight of reality pulling stronger in the morning which leaves me more guarded about what I want to say.
So, for the rest of the week, I'm going to shift this segment from being my opening statement to set up my day, to being a way for me to say good night to the world while sharing some of my stranger thoughts.
I'll be back in a bit with my latest SNL Reviews and will be back here tomorrow evening to say good night.
Talk to you then,
The Wicker Breaker
