/Yesterday ended up being a pretty good day and now I'm on top of my game again which has me feeling great. If for some reason you are reading this and are unaware of my latest Saturday Night Live challenge, greetings, and I've been watching at least one episode of SNL every day and plan to keep at it until I watch every episode ever made.
For a while there, I was a little ahead of the game to where I always had two reviews ready to go just in case I needed an emergency day. Last weekend, I ended up using my free pass when a last-minute change in plans led me to burn through my backlog to hang out with my family a day earlier than I set up my schedule for.
This set me back to where I was watching, reviewing and posting my thoughts on each episode all in the same day. This added a bit of extra stress in my life because I fell into a very comfortable pattern of waking, posting a review that's already been written then going about my regular day. After a certain amount of time, I would need a break so I would watch the next episode in my queue. Then I would go back to my regular tasks if I had any and finish the day by writing a review, starting the cycle again.
Unless I have my day set up the way I just explained above, I end up spending the whole day feeling behind, which affects my attitude toward my efforts and puts me in an unproductive pattern of multitasking where my jumping back and forth on what I focus on does more harm than good.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really good at multitasking when things are running smooth but when I'm on the cusp of biting off more than I can chew, my thoughts can get so scattered that I end up getting the bare minimum done.
Last night, I finished my first backlog review and I can already feel a sense of relief and now that it's Friday, going into a weekend with nothing planned at all, I will have the perfect opportunity to get far enough ahead of the game to finally get back to my classes.
As always, I'll keep you posted on my progress and will check in tomorrow to update you on what else I'm up to.
Talk to you then,
The Wicker Breaker
